Video quality (resolution and frame rate) is adjusted automatically so that videos play smoothly when viewed. The highest quality is HD, equivalent to 720p. For videos from a 360-degree camera, we prepare up to 4K (3840×1920) equivalent (see below).
How video playback works
When videos are uploaded, they are converted into several different resolutions. The resolution changes automatically based on the network speed when the video is viewed. The system is designed so that videos can still play even when the network connection is poor, such as when used on site.
Number of pixels
- Good: equivalent to 720p
- Normal: equivalent to 480p
- Poor: equivalent to 360p
Number of pixels for 360-degree camera videos
For 360-degree camera videos, we prepare the following two levels so that the image does not look coarse even when you look around. As with regular videos, the quality switches automatically based on the network speed when viewing.
- 4K: equivalent to 3840×1920 (not created if the original video is less than 4K)
- 2K: equivalent to 1920×960
With Preload (Offline), videos are saved at 2K. For details, see Create SOPs with 360-degree camera videos and photos (Look around, View in VR).
Frame rate (how many images are prepared per second)
Max 30
You can also watch at a fixed resolution by changing the resolution during playback.
