In AR, a key point is how the content you create is aligned with the real world. With on-site use in mind, Dive uses the alignment technologies below, which make marker preparation unnecessary.
① Spatial Recognition (VPS: Visual Positioning System)
- This technology obtains the shape information of the location where AR will be displayed in advance, and overlays the AR information based on that shape.
- Because it determines the placement reference in three dimensions, it features minimal positional misalignment.
- As an external integration, you can also link map information from Immersal and use it as VPS data.
② Plane Detection
- It detects flat surfaces such as floors and desks, and can display AR using any point as the origin. This works like the AR feature in the Amazon app.
- No advance preparation is needed, so it is easy to use.
Scan data retention period
- Scan data used for spatial recognition is kept for 1 year. If the scan data is accessed during that period, it is extended by another 1 year from that point.
- We will notify the person who created scan data nearing its expiry, as well as the Owner and Team Administrator, by email. Notifications are batched and sent on Mondays, twice in total: about 2 weeks before the expiry and about 1 week before. The emails sent to the Owner and Team Administrator include the names and links of the SOPs that use that scan data. If you open the SOP in AR and execute alignment within the expiry period, the expiry date is extended.
- If you link and use an Immersal map, there is no limit on the retention period.
Notes
- Alignment using spatial recognition requires an internet connection. If a connection is not available, plane detection is used as a fallback.
- Spatial alignment with AR glasses is limited, so Dive uses AR markers combined with manual alignment.
- AR marker alignment can be used on smart glasses that support Image Tracking (Xreal Air 2 Ultra, MiRZA). On unsupported models (XREAL One / One Pro, etc.), only manual alignment is available.
