3D editing is a feature that lets you place and edit AR content (arrows, text, images, audio, 3D models, and more) in 3D space using a browser on PC or smartphone. When you use 3D editing to edit AR content, you can position elements on screen without holding up your device.
3D editing (beta) is currently available to Pro and Enterprise plan customers on both PC and smartphone.
About 3D editing
This feature lets you place and edit AR content assigned to each step of an SOP in 3D space. You work with the same AR content as in the smartphone app's "Edit AR" mode, but you can edit on screen without holding up your device.

How to start
You can open 3D editing only when the target step is set to use AR. Follow these steps to launch it:
- Open the target SOP in edit mode.
- Select the step you want to edit in 3D, and turn on "Use" in that step's AR Settings.
- Press the "3D editing (beta)" button shown in AR Settings (it appears next to the "Edit AR" button).
- The 3D editing screen opens.
The "3D editing (beta)" button is disabled if you have unsaved changes. Save your SOP changes first before opening 3D editing.
Setting up alignment (scan data) is not required. You can open 3D editing and place AR content on steps where you have not set up alignment. For information about how to set up alignment, see How to configure AR.
Environment 3D model
In 3D editing, if you set a 3D model for the environment in advance, it displays as the background of the space. You can place AR content while viewing the target space without holding up your device, making it useful as a reference for positioning.
Add an environment 3D model
- In the SOP edit screen, open the "Basic information" tab.
- Open "AR Definition" in Settings, then link a 3D model file from "Environment 3D model" > "Add 3D model".
Supported 3D model formats are GLB / glTF / FBX / OBJ / STL.
About saving
Placements in 3D editing are not automatically saved. When you finish editing, press "Confirm edits" to save. Your saved content will be reflected in the SOP.
