Remove questions (quizzes) from your SOP without opening each step individually. Use this feature to bulk clear or align how you judge questions across multiple steps. The steps themselves and their content remain unchanged—only the questions are edited in bulk.
When to use this
- You added many questions for testing, but want view-only with no questions for production deployment
- Auto-generated questions from video-to-SOP conversion need to be removed all at once to create a simpler SOP
- You want to redesign your questions, so clear everything first and reorganize
- You have a branching SOP and want to export to MP4 (remove the branching question to make it linear)
- You want to switch to checklist/inspection sheet operation, so you need to bulk change questions with correct answers to a pass/fail judgment
How to start
- Open the target SOP in Edit mode
- Click the [Other] menu at the top right → [Bulk edit]
- Switch to the [Questions] tab at the top of the modal
To select multiple steps, hold Ctrl (or Command on Mac) or Shift while clicking steps. Then click [Bulk edit] on the right side—only those selected steps will be affected.
Choose your action (how to judge / clear questions / use template)
In the tab, select which operation to perform using the action switcher (segment).

[How to judge] (default): Align multiple-choice and numeric questions to one of these two. The expected answer is kept as is. Free-text questions are excluded.
- [Stop until as expected]: If the answer differs from expected, the viewer cannot proceed to the next step. The expected answer is not shown to the viewer
- [Continue when unexpected] (formerly "pass/fail judgment"): The expected answer is shown to viewers as "Normal". Answers that differ are recorded in the work records as "Abnormal" and the viewer continues to the next step
- [Clear question]: Reset questions to "None" (traditional bulk clear behavior)
The default is [How to judge] set to [Stop until as expected]. If you want to remove questions, be sure to switch to [Clear question].
[Use template] (Pro plan and above): Select a pre-registered question template to bulk replace or add questions to target steps (you can add questions even to steps that have none). For instructions, see How to create and use question templates.
Select target steps
Only steps with questions appear in the list. Steps without questions are not shown.
In [How to judge], the list shows the current setting for each question. You cannot select questions that are already set to the alignment target ("Already set this way") or free-input questions ("Excluded (free input)").
- Filter search: Narrow down by step title or question text (helpful when there are many)
- Individual check: Check the checkbox for each step you want to process (all are selected by default)
- Bulk select: Use [Select all] or [Deselect all] at the top to change all at once
Execute
The footer button text changes depending on the action you have selected. Always confirm before clicking.
- If the action is [Clear question]: [Clear N selected questions] (red button)
- If the action is [How to judge]: [Align N to "Stop until as expected"] or [Align N to "Continue when unexpected"]
When you click, the questions in the selected steps are processed in bulk. Changes are recorded in the SOP notes (edit history) as "Bulk clear questions: N items" / "Bulk change N questions to 'Stop until as expected': N items" / "Bulk change N questions to 'Continue when unexpected': N items".
Note: Changes do not take effect until you save and publish. After confirmation, click [Save] / [Publish] as usual.
Behavior after clearing ([Clear question] selected)
- The steps themselves and their content (title, details, tips, quality warning, safety, captions, etc.) remain
- Only the questions (question text, choices, correct answer, branching rules) are removed
- When viewing a cleared step, no question modal appears, and viewers can proceed directly to the next step
- If a question that was a branching point is cleared, the branching is disabled and the SOP becomes linear (sequential)
Behavior after conversion ([Align to "Continue when unexpected"])
- In multiple-choice questions with correct answers, the correct choice is treated as "Normal"
- In numeric input questions, the correct range (minimum to maximum) switches to "Normal range"
- Whether normal or abnormal, the SOP does not stop—it continues, and the answer is recorded in work records as "Abnormal"
- Branching does not change automatically (branching settings remain as they are)
Skip question generation during video-to-SOP conversion
At the stage of converting a video to an SOP, you can also choose not to generate questions at all. When converting a video to an SOP, in the audio and caption settings modal, uncheck "Create questions"—this skips automatic question generation.
This eliminates the need for bulk clearing later. If your operation does not use questions, turning this OFF during video-to-SOP conversion is convenient.
Tips for best results
- To export a branching SOP to MP4: Use [Clear question] to bulk remove the branching question at the starting point—this linearizes the SOP and makes MP4 export possible (SOPs with branching do not yet support MP4 conversion)
- To switch to checklist operation: Align existing quiz questions with correct answers to [How to judge] [Continue when unexpected]—this completes the switch from educational to checklist in one action
- To separate test and production versions: Keep the test version with questions and use a copy of the SOP with bulk clear for production deployment
- Clearing and deleting are different: This feature sets questions to "None" only. To remove entire steps, use the standard step delete function
- Save as draft before action: When editing questions across many steps, it is reassuring to save as a draft first—you can revert from the history if needed
