A feature to bulk clear or convert to pass/fail checks the questions (quizzes) set in an SOP, without opening each step individually. The steps and body text remain intact—only the questions are edited in bulk.
When to use this
- Many questions were added for testing, but for production deployment you want read-only viewing without questions
- Questions auto-generated from video-to-SOP conversion—you want to remove them all at once and simplify the SOP
- You need to redesign questions, so clear everything at once to reorganize from scratch
- You want to MP4 export an SOP with branching (remove the questions that create branches to linearize)
- You want to switch to inspection sheet/checklist operation, so you need to bulk convert questions with correct answers to pass/fail checks
How to launch
- Open the target SOP in edit mode
- Click the [Other] menu at the top right → [Bulk edit]
- Switch to the [Bulk edit questions] tab at the top of the modal
Choose an action (Continue even if answer differs / Clear question)
Use the action switcher (segment control) in the tab to select which operation to run.
- [Allow continuing even when the answer is unexpected] (default; formerly "convert to pass/fail check"): Converts questions with correct answers into questions that don't stop the SOP even if the answer differs (pass/fail check questions). The choice that was "correct" becomes treated as "Normal," and if anything other than Normal is selected, the SOP continues without stopping—but the unusual answer is recorded in viewing records. See Pass/fail check questions and viewing records (inspection sheet/checklist operation) for details
- [Clear question]: Resets questions to "None" (the former bulk-clear behavior)
The default is [Allow continuing even when the answer is unexpected]. If you want to remove questions, be sure to switch to [Clear question].
[Use template] (Pro plan and above): Select a pre-registered question template and bulk replace or add questions for the target steps (you can add questions even to steps that have none). See How to create and use question templates for details.
Choose the target steps
Only steps that have questions are shown. Steps with no questions are not displayed.
- Filter search: Narrow down by step title or question text (handy when there are many)
- Individual check: Turn ON the checkboxes for the steps you want to process (all are selected by default)
- Bulk select: Use [Select all] or [Deselect all] at the top to toggle all at once
Execute
The execute button text at the footer changes based on the selected action. Always confirm before clicking.
- If action is [Clear question]: [Clear N selected questions] (red button)
- If action is [Allow continuing even when the answer is unexpected]: [Make N selected items "Continue even if answer differs"]
Clicking processes the questions in the selected steps in bulk. The change is recorded in the SOP notes (edit history) as "Cleared N questions" or "Converted N questions to pass/fail check".
※ Changes do not take effect until you save and publish. After confirming, proceed with the normal [Save] and [Publish].
Behavior after clearing (when [Clear question] is selected)
- Steps and body text (title, details, tips, quality warnings, safety, captions, etc.) remain intact
- Only questions (question text, choices, correct answer, branching rules) are removed
- When viewing cleared steps, the question modal will not appear, and you'll proceed directly to the next step
- If you clear a question that was the branching trigger, the branch is disabled and behavior becomes linear (sequential)
Behavior after conversion (when [Allow continuing even when the answer is unexpected] is selected)
- For multiple-choice questions with correct answers, the choice that was correct becomes "Normal"
- For numeric-entry questions, the correct range (lower bound to upper bound) switches to "Normal range"
- Whether Normal or Abnormal, the SOP does not stop and advances; the answer is recorded as "Abnormal" in viewing records
- Conditional branching does not change automatically (branching settings are preserved as-is)
Choose "don't create questions" when converting video to SOP
You can also skip question generation entirely at the stage of creating an SOP from video. In the audio/caption settings modal when converting video to SOP, uncheck "Create questions" and automatic question generation will be skipped.
Since you won't need to bulk-clear later, if your operation doesn't use questions, it's convenient to turn this OFF when converting video to SOP.
Tips for success
- To MP4-export an SOP with branching: Use [Clear question] to bulk-clear the questions that trigger the branches, which linearizes the SOP and makes MP4 export possible (SOPs with branching don't yet support MP4 conversion)
- To switch to inspection sheet operation: Bulk-convert existing quiz questions with correct answers using [Convert to pass/fail check], completing the shift from training to inspection in one action
- To separate test and production versions: Keep the test version with questions, and when deploying to production, copy the SOP and bulk-clear the copy—this workflow is also possible
- Clearing and deleting are different: This feature sets questions to "None" only. If you want to remove the step itself, use the normal step delete function
- Save draft before operating: When editing questions across many steps, it's reassuring to save a draft beforehand (you can revert from history)
