When playing back an SOP, you can prevent the description text for each step from displaying on screen. Use this setting when you want to play the SOP like a video, with only images or slides and narrated audio.
What is Hide text
This is a playback display option that can be set for each SOP. When enabled, the description text for all steps in that SOP will not appear on screen, and the SOP will progress with only video, images, slides, and narrated audio. This feature is ideal for SOPs where you want viewers to learn by sight and sound without reading text, or SOPs you want to present as a flowing video.
The description text itself is not deleted—it is only hidden. If you turn the setting back off, the text will display again. Viewers can also temporarily display the text using a toggle on the playback screen (described below).
Since this setting is configured from the SOP editing screen, only users who can edit the SOP have access to it.
How to configure
Configure this setting from the SOP editing screen in a PC browser.
- Open the target SOP in the editing screen.
- Open "Playback & display settings" in "Advanced settings".
- Turn on "Do not display text on screen".
- Save the SOP.
When enabled, "Hide text" appears in the "Playback & display settings" heading so you can see the current state at a glance.
To revert, turn off the same "Do not display text on screen" toggle and save.
How it looks on the playback screen
When you play back an SOP with Hide text enabled, the description text for each step will not be displayed. Instead, a message saying "This procedure is set to hide text" and a toggle to display the text will appear.
If narrated audio is configured, the audio will play even when text is hidden.
Viewers temporarily displaying text
Viewers can turn on the "Show text" toggle on the playback screen to display the description text on the spot. This can be used when you need to check the written content.
This toggle is temporary and the state is not remembered. When you open the SOP again, it will return to the Hide text state.
