We will provide guidance on recommended device specs and network environment for viewing SOPs on tablets and smartphones at the workplace, as well as for creating and editing SOPs on a PC.
The information provided here is merely a guideline and is not a dividing line between what is supported and what is not. You can use Dive even on devices with specs below these guidelines. Please refer to this as a reference if you want to improve the experience of loading and operations. Please note that the information provided here is current as of August 2026.
For a list of supported browsers and supported devices, please see Differences in devices and apps used.
Video Delivery Method
Dive videos are delivered using a method that automatically switches video quality depending on your current network conditions. In environments with narrow bandwidth, quality is automatically reduced to prioritize playback, so the required communication volume is approximately 3 Mbps at most.
This automatic switching applies to videos uploaded on or after 13:00 on December 1, 2025. Videos uploaded before that are not subject to this. For details, please see 2025-12-01 (Improvement Release) Video Loading Speed Improvement.
Recommended Spec Guidelines
When viewing at the workplace (Tablets and Smartphones)
| Item | Guideline | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | 8GB or higher | You can use 4GB devices. Browser and video playback can strain resources, and this is an item where differences in user experience tend to be noticeable. |
| CPU | Mid-range or higher released within 3 years | As examples as of August 2026, Snapdragon 6 Series, MediaTek Helio G99, Dimensity 7000 Series, and similar models are applicable. |
| Storage | 128GB or higher | If you use Preload, plan for approximately 20GB of free space. |
| OS and Browser | Android 12 or higher / iPadOS 16 or higher | Use the latest browser version. Google Chrome is recommended. |
| Display | 10 inches or larger | Plan for a resolution of approximately 1920 x 1200. |
| Network | Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac) or higher | Plan for an effective speed of approximately the number of devices you're viewing simultaneously x 3-5 Mbps. |
When creating and editing SOPs (PC)
Since AI analysis and video conversion are performed on Dive's server side, processing time does not change depending on PC performance. PC performance has an impact in three areas: operations on the SOP editing screen, exports such as PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint, and 3D editing.
| Item | Guideline | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Memory | 8GB or higher (16GB for greater comfort) | Memory is used when editing SOPs containing long videos and exporting to PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint. |
| CPU | Core i5 / Ryzen 5 equivalent or higher | Plan for within 5 years from the release date. |
| OS | Windows 10 (64-bit) or higher / macOS 12 or later | |
| Browser | Latest version of Google Chrome | You can also use Microsoft Edge and Safari. Google Chrome is recommended. |
| Display | Full HD (1920 x 1080) or higher | The wider the display, the easier it is to edit SOPs. |
| Graphics | WebGL must be available | This is required when using 3D editing. Works with standard integrated graphics. |
| Network | 10 Mbps or higher upstream | This is a guideline when uploading videos. For viewing only, approximately 3-5 Mbps is recommended. |
Troubleshooting When Loading is Slow
When video loading takes time, it is often caused by the network environment rather than device specs. First, please troubleshoot using the following method.
- Open the same SOP from a different device (PC or smartphone) at the same location.
- If loading is also slow on the other device, it is likely that the network environment at that location is the cause. Please check the distance from the access point and signal strength.
- If the other device plays without issues, it is considered that the current device is the cause. Please try the following methods.
How to Improve Without Replacing Your Device
Using Preload
When you execute "Preload" from the menu of each SOP in the Procedure List, it is saved on the device including videos. If you preload at a location with good signal conditions such as an office, you can play without waiting for loading at the workplace, and can even play in areas where signal does not reach. For details, please see Does the SOP support offline playback?
Using the Smartphone and Tablet App
At locations with poor communication environments, we recommend using the smartphone and tablet app instead of a web browser. Because it uses storage within the app, loaded data is stably stored and automatically downloaded during normal viewing as well. For installation instructions, please see App Installation and Operation Verification Methods.
Other Measures
For measures to take when video SOPs do not play, such as clearing browser cache and lowering playback resolution, please see Video SOP Not Playing.
