You can export the entire procedure as an MP4 with the same look as on the Dive service. When exporting, if you specify a Translation language, the MP4 is exported with the translation already applied.
Specifications
- Frame rate up to 30 fps and resolution 1080p (landscape 1920×1080 / portrait 1080×1920; choose the orientation under "Advanced settings" below). MP4s created before October 21, 2026 are 720p (landscape 1280×720 / portrait 720×1280). To recreate in 1080p, check [Discard the existing data for these settings and recreate] and then export.
- The PDF shown in a step is displayed at a size that fits the entire page.
Notes
- SOPs of 30 minutes or less can be exported on the Lite plan or higher. SOPs over 30 minutes can be exported for up to 3 hours on the Pro and Enterprise plans (see "Exporting SOPs over 30 minutes" below).
- Published SOPs can be exported.
- The first export takes at least as long as the playback time. You will be notified by email when it is complete, so please wait. Note: If you have already exported with the same language and settings, you can download it right away. An MP4 is created for each combination of Translation language and settings (see "Advanced settings" below).
- If the Read text narration is longer than the step video, the same step video repeats until the narration ends, and it stays in the MP4 as is. For how to stop the repetition, see The same step video repeats many times in an exported MP4.
- If the finished MP4 file is large (500MB or more), it is downloaded directly without being loaded into the browser (for SOPs of 30 minutes or less, this applies to MP4s created on or after October 21, 2026).
How to export
- Open the details of the step → [Export] → click [MP4 export]
-
Select a Translation language and click [Export]. If you want to change the video orientation or how the text pane is shown, select them first under [Advanced settings] (see "Advanced settings" below).
Note: If the MP4 has already been created but you want to recreate it (for example, because an error occurred or you changed the Pronunciation Dictionary), check [Discard the existing data for these settings and recreate]. Only the MP4 for the settings you have selected is recreated.
Advanced settings (video orientation, step heading, text pane, subtitle position)
When you open [Advanced settings] on the export screen, you can choose how this MP4 looks. The SOP's Playback & display settings do not change. Each time you open the export screen, it starts with the same look as before (landscape, Show the heading, and the SOP settings).
- Video orientation: Landscape (16:9) / Portrait (9:16). In portrait, the MP4 is made with the video on top and the text pane below, the same as on a smartphone. If you collapse the text pane, the video fills the screen. A landscape video appears smaller.
- The step heading: Show / Hide. This is the step number, title, and standard time shown at the top left of the video.
- Text pane: Follow the SOP settings / Show / Collapse. If you want an MP4 with only the video and no description text, select [Collapse].
- Subtitle position: Follow the SOP settings / Bottom / Top / Left / Right / Off
"Follow the SOP settings" means the look set under "Playback & display settings" in the [Basic information] of the SOP (Set how each SOP looks during playback (Playback & display settings)).
MP4s for each setting (MP4s in this language)
Created MP4s are kept for each combination of Translation language and settings. Even if you change the settings and export, MP4s with other settings are not replaced.
If there are MP4s in that language, the export screen shows a table under "MP4s in this language" with each MP4's status (Created, Creating, or Previous attempt failed), settings, and Created at. Select a row to switch to those settings. If the status is Created, you can download it right away with [Export]. If there is no MP4 yet for the settings you have selected, [Export] creates a new one.
If "Other settings exist" appears in the Translation language field, there is no MP4 for the settings you have selected, but there are MP4s with other settings.
Exporting SOPs over 30 minutes
SOPs over 30 minutes are created in parts split at Step splits, and then joined into one MP4. This is available on the Pro and Enterprise plans.
- As in "How to export" above, go to [Export] → [MP4 export], select a Translation language, and click [Export].
- The confirmation screen shows how many parts the MP4 will be split into and the approximate time until it is complete. Click [Create MP4] to start creating it.
- You will be notified by email when it is complete.
- Where to split is always at a Step split. A step is never cut in the middle.
- If you click [Export] again while the MP4 is being created, the progress is shown, for example, "MP4 data is being created (creating in 3 parts, 1 part complete)". The number of completed parts also appears in the "MP4s in this language" table.
- If a revision of the SOP is published while the MP4 is being created, creation is stopped so that different versions are not mixed, and you will be notified by email. Please export again.
- You can only export SOPs up to 3 hours long. For longer SOPs, either split the content into multiple SOPs or use Export to PDF instead. SOPs in which any single step is longer than about 30 minutes cannot be exported. Add a split with the [Scissors] button in the video editor, then split that step into parts of 30 minutes or less to export it (Adjusting step splits).
- If you try to export an SOP over 30 minutes on the Lite or Core plan, a notice about the Pro plan is shown.
