In the video editor, you can listen to subtitle Audio playback in real time. Before exporting and playing the entire SOP, you can Check intonation, speed, and Reading accuracy at the Subtitle or Step level.
When to use this
- You want to confirm that technical terms are pronounced correctly before exporting
- You want to know if long Subtitles have natural pauses in the Audio playback
- After changing the Pronunciation Dictionary (Registered readings), you want to hear and Confirm the effect immediately
- For multilingual Subtitles, you want to Check if the Audio playback after Translation is easy to understand
Prerequisites
- The target Step has "Subtitle Audio" turned ON (Subtitles with it OFF are not eligible for listening)
- Text is entered in the Subtitle you want to listen to (Hidden or blank Subtitles are not eligible)
You can Switch Subtitle Audio ON/OFF from the Audio and Subtitles Settings in the video editor.
Listen to one Subtitle only
- Open the video editor and check the Subtitles arranged in the Timeline at the bottom
- Click the [Preview] button (speaker icon) for the Subtitle you want to listen to
- The video seeks to the beginning of the Subtitle, and the Audio playback starts in real time (the video syncs and moves along)
- Click the same button again to Stop
Video and Audio synchronization
- During Preview, the video's original Audio is automatically Muted, and only the Audio playback is heard
- The video position and Audio playback are synchronized, and automatically Stop when the Subtitle interval passes
- Cut intervals (intervals Excluded in editing) are compressed on the Audio side as well, just like in the final output
- If you seek on the Timeline during Preview, the Preview automatically Stops
Tips for using effectively
- Check technical terms Subtitle by Subtitle: You can pinpoint and listen to only the Subtitles you're concerned about multiple times
- Combine with the Pronunciation Dictionary: If there's a word whose Reading you want to change, Register it in the Pronunciation Dictionary and Confirm the effect with Preview
- Also for confirming after Translation: Even for translated Subtitles, you can Confirm the Audio playback in that Language on the spot
- Caching works: Subtitles with identical content play immediately from the second time onward. The Cycle of fine-tuning → re-Preview moves quickly
- Preview does not affect the SOP itself: Since it's Preview-only, the Confirmed Audio playback data is not Changed
When you cannot Preview or hear no sound
- Check that Subtitle Audio is not OFF for the Affected steps (Audio and Subtitles Settings)
- If the Subtitle has no Text entered, or is set to Hide, it is not eligible for Preview
- Check that your browser audio is not Muted, and also check your PC's own volume Settings
- The first playback requires User Operation (clicking). Auto-play may be blocked by browser restrictions
