The content you assign to each step (video, image, or PDF) can be changed to a different type even after creation, or replaced with a different file of the same type. This article explains how to change or replace step content.
When you change step content, you can keep the text, questions, and AR settings you entered. You can also explicitly overwrite them with text from the replacement source.
Step content types
Step content can be video, image, PDF, or no content. Choose the type that fits your step: video to show motion, image to highlight key points in one frame, PDF to display reference materials, or no content.
Change to a different content type
When you select a step in the SOP editing screen, the "Details" section (a dropdown to select type) appears at the top of the preview on the right. For both video and non-video steps, use the same dropdown to switch types.
- Open the SOP editing screen and select the step you want to change.
- From the dropdown at the top of the preview, select the type you want to change to (Image, PDF, Video, or No content).
Replace the file while keeping the same type
You can also replace just the file being displayed (video asset, image, or PDF file) without changing the type. For both video and non-video steps, use the "Replace" button shown on the thumbnail image. Text, question, and AR settings are preserved.
- Select the step you want to replace and hover over the thumbnail image in the preview.
- Click the "Replace" button that appears below the image.
- From "Materials", select the file to replace with.
●When replacing with a video, you can choose which segments to use
When you replace with a video asset, "Choose the segments to replace with" appears. You select which segments from the new video to use here, so you don't need to cut unused parts beforehand. Segments you don't select aren't deleted—they're marked as cut and can be restored later in the video editor.
If you select the same number of segments as the step you're replacing, the next screen lets you choose "Keep the original text". You can also proceed with a different number of segments, in which case the steps are recreated based on the new video's segmentation (the step text will be from the new video). While selecting, you'll see how many segments you've selected and how many you can keep text for.
Verify the operation
After changing or replacing, play the step to confirm that the content you set displays correctly. Text, question, and AR settings remain as they were.
