"Desired procedures (Idea board)" is a feature for posting and aggregating SOPs that are needed on the floor, and managing their development status. When you're unsure which SOP to create first, you can set priorities based on actual floor demand.
Available on all plans. Open it from the "Desired procedures" button in the sidebar (not displayed on smart glass terminals).
About Desired procedures (Idea board)
A board where anyone, including view-only users, can post requests like "I want this kind of SOP" or "This task explanation would be helpful." People who want the same thing can show support with "+1", and posts are managed with statuses: "Want", "Creating", and "Completed". You can also discuss each card in a comment thread.
The posts shown are filtered based on your group affiliation (using the same access restriction logic as regular SOPs and groups).
- Owner / Team Administrator: All posts are displayed
- Group Administrator: Posts from users in your managed group (your own group + subordinate groups) are displayed
- Created user / View-only user / Guest: Posts from users in your same group affiliation are displayed
- Your own posts are always displayed. If a poster has no group affiliation, the post is displayed to everyone
Posters and "+1" supporters outside your viewable range are shown with a gray anonymous avatar labeled "Members" instead of their name or photo.
Post a Desired procedure
- Open the "Desired procedures" button in the sidebar.
- Enter the title of the SOP or task explanation you want in the input field at the top (clicking the field expands a details section below).
- As needed, add details about where and what you need help with (optional).
- Click "Post".
When you post, it is added to the list with your "+1" already attached.
Show support with "+1"
Click the "+1" button on any card in the list to indicate you also want it. Click again to remove your support.
- The button displays the number of "+1"s and avatars of supporters in one line (up to 3 avatars shown; additional supporters are condensed into a "+N" chip)
- Hover over an avatar to see a popup list of everyone who gave "+1" (with names)
Discuss in the comment thread
Each card has a comment thread where you can discuss clarification of the request, related information, and creation plans.
- Click the comment icon (speech bubble) in the bottom right of a card to open the thread, showing existing comments and an input field. Click again to close it
- The number next to the icon shows the total comment count for that card (only the icon is shown when there are 0 comments)
- Type text in the input field and click [Send] to add a comment
- You can edit or delete your own comments (via the icon in the top right)
- Comments use a flat, single-level structure (no reply threads)
- Comment visibility and anonymous display follow the same rules as the card itself
- When you post a comment, the request poster and "+1" supporters (excluding yourself) receive an email with the subject "[Dive] A comment has been added to your request: ~"
Sort and filter
Use the controls in the top right to organize the list display.
- Status tabs: Filter by "All / Creating / Completed"
- "I want" checkbox: When enabled, shows only posts you gave "+1" to (can be combined with status tabs)
- Sort order: Choose from "By votes", "By post order (newest first)", or "By title" (default is by votes)
- Ascending / Descending toggle: Use the icon next to the sort order to switch between ascending and descending for each sort type
The list order is recalculated only when you change the sort or filter settings. After that, even if "+1" counts change or new posts are added, the existing card order doesn't change (new posts are appended at the end). This prevents cards from scrolling off-screen when you open a comment thread — the entire list order is frozen. When you adjust sort or filter again, the order updates based on the current state.
Change status
From the menu (…) on each card, you can change its status. Only users with the Created user role or above (including Group Administrator, Team Administrator, and Owner) can change status. View-only users and guests cannot change status.
Change to Creating
- From the card menu, select "Creating".
- You appear as the person working on it under the "Creating" tag.
Change to Completed
- From the card menu, select "Completed".
- Search for and select the SOP that responded to the request (you can select from the same search catalog as the Skill Map).
- Click "Mark as Completed" to link the SOP to the request, and it will open directly from the card.
When marked as Completed, notifications are sent to the poster and "+1" supporters.
- A unread count badge appears on the "Desired procedures" button in the sidebar (showing the number of your unread completed requests)
- An email notification is also sent with the completed SOP name
- When the poster opens the board, a green checkmark labeled "Responded to your request" appears on their request card
Revert to Want
You can revert "Creating" or "Completed" requests to their original state by selecting "Want" from the menu (the person working on it and the linked SOP will be cleared).
Escalate to Creation Plan
When a request is decided to actually be created, you can escalate it to the Creation Plan (a top-down SOP planning board) to assign ownership and set deadlines. The escalated planned SOP retains a reference to the original "Desired procedures" post, and notifications are sent to the original poster and "+1" supporters when it's completed.
For details, see Creation Plan (Plan and assign SOP development by folder).
Delete a post
Delete permissions are as follows. Select "Delete" from the card menu.
- The person who posted it: Your own posts
- Owner / Team Administrator: All posts
- Group Administrator: Posts from users in your managed group (your own group + subordinate groups)
