When viewing an SOP, you can hide the description text for each step. Use this setting when you want viewers to follow along with images or slides and audio narration alone—like watching a video.
About hiding descriptions
This is a playback and display setting you can configure per SOP. When enabled, descriptions for all steps in that SOP will be hidden, and viewers will see only video, images, slides, and hear audio narration. It's perfect for SOPs where you want viewers to learn through visuals and sound without reading text, or for SOPs you want to present like a video.
The descriptions themselves aren't deleted—just hidden. You can turn the setting off to display them again. Viewers can also temporarily show the descriptions using a toggle on the playback screen (explained below).
Since you configure this in the SOP editor or in step conversion settings when creating an SOP, only people with permission to edit the SOP can use this setting.
How to configure
Configure it from a PC browser. You can set it for existing SOPs or when creating a new one.
Setting it for an existing SOP
- Open the SOP you want to edit.
- In Advanced settings, open [Playback & display settings].
- Turn on [Do not display text on screen].
- Save the SOP.
When enabled, the heading of [Playback & display settings] will show "Hide text" so you can see the current state at a glance.
To revert, turn off the same [Do not display text on screen] option and save.
Setting it when creating a new SOP
When creating a new SOP from materials, you can also specify [Do not display text on screen] in [Playback & display settings] under [Step conversion settings]. If you specify it here, the new SOP will have this setting enabled from the start.
This option doesn't appear when adding materials with [Add step] to an SOP you're creating. Since this is a per-SOP setting, adding steps won't change the display setting for the entire SOP.
For details on each item in [Step conversion settings], see Step conversion settings (audio narration, subtitles, questions, and related files).
How it looks on the playback screen
When you play an SOP with descriptions hidden, the descriptions won't appear. Instead, you'll see a message saying "This procedure is set to hide text" and a toggle to show the descriptions.
If audio narration is set up, the audio will continue playing even when descriptions are hidden.
Viewers temporarily showing descriptions
Viewers can turn on the [Show text] toggle on the playback screen to temporarily display the descriptions. They can use this when they want to check the written details.
This toggle is temporary and doesn't save the state. When viewers open the SOP again, it will be back to hidden descriptions.
