Dive has two types of reading-aloud features. Both support multiple languages (the audio supports 65 languages; other languages are read aloud in English—for details, see Languages supported by auto translation).
① Read text
When you open a step, the text in the description field is read aloud. By default, this reading is ON.
Features: Not synchronized with video, but no timing adjustment is needed, so editing is straightforward. Can also be used for content other than video.
② Read subtitles
Subtitles are read aloud synchronized with their display timing. By default, this is OFF.
Features: Synchronized with video, so understanding the spoken content is smooth.
Note: Reading speed with subtitles
With subtitle reading-aloud, the reading speed (tempo) is automatically adjusted based on the subtitle display length during editing.
When audio does not fit within the subtitle display time, the speed increases and sounds rushed. If you want natural speed, change the display length or adjust the character count in the subtitle text.
Since this speed adjustment is necessary, for simple operation we recommend using text reading-aloud.
Note: Language standard for reading-aloud
Translation and reading-aloud are based on the Original language set in the SOP. The default is Japanese.
For SOPs created in languages other than Japanese, set the original language in "Playback & display settings" under "Basic information" in the SOP editing screen. If you play without setting this and without translating, the reading-aloud audio may not be generated correctly.
The default for the Entire team can be set by "Language of SOPs you create from now on" in the "Terminology Glossary" in the Dictionary (Team Administrator or higher). This does not affect already-created SOPs.
