Have you ever wondered while using Alignment AR whether "the AR Objects seem to be positioned incorrectly" or felt uncertain about whether alignment is working properly? Starting with v4.2.9, we've added a feature to check the difference between the real world and AR positioning on the spot.
Main Reasons Why Positioning Drift Occurs
Alignment AR judges position based on the shape of the physical space. For this reason, drift can occur in the following situations:
You moved your smartphone significantly or temporarily covered the camera
You continued using it while away from the reference location
The system mistakenly recognized a location with a similar shape as the same place
About the New Display
You can now view the "point cloud information" from when the reference information was obtained on both the creation and viewing screens.
How to View
Tap the screen to display the point cloud information
It will automatically Hide after a few seconds
👉 If the point cloud matches the real-world shape, alignment is correct.
How to Use and Troubleshooting
Alignment AR has the feature that when you point the camera toward a location with reference information, it automatically re-aligns (recalibrates) itself.
Take advantage of this characteristic in the following ways:
During Creation
When placing AR Objects at a location away from the reference position,
Place the AR Objects
Occasionally point the camera toward the direction with reference information
Confirm that the point cloud information matches the real world
👉 Catching drift early prevents corrections later.
During Viewing
If AR Objects appear in an unnatural position,
Point the camera toward the direction with reference information
Wait until the point cloud information matches the real world
👉 The system will automatically re-align (recalibrate) and return to the correct position.
Common Tips
If the point cloud shows significant drift, moving closer to the reference position is effective
In extremely dark locations, alignment can become unstable.
Thank you for your continued use of Dive.
