In this release, we have redesigned the screen for creating assessment test questions with AI, allowing you to set the number of questions, language, and instructions for AI before generating, and then select which generated questions to include. Additionally, when creating a procedure from a video using a reference work procedure guide, you can now alternate between reference material pages and video steps, ensuring the procedure language remains consistent even when the material and video languages differ. In user management, you can now restore multiple disabled users at once.
1. With "Generate questions with AI" in assessment tests, you can now set the number of questions, language, and instructions for AI before generating, and then select which generated questions to include
Previously, when you pressed "Generate questions with AI" in a course assessment test, it would create 4 questions in Japanese and automatically add them to the end of the assessment test. With this release, you now set conditions before generation and can verify the generated questions before adding them.
Things you can set before generating:
- Number of questions: 1 to 20 questions (4 questions by default)
- Question language: By default set to "Same as SOP". Questions will be generated in the language of the procedure guide added to the course. You can also select a different language
- Instructions for AI (optional): You can specify what to ask about, difficulty level, and wording (Example: Focus on safety-related questions. Include questions where students select things that should not be done). When left blank, questions will be generated from important points in the procedure (procedure order, safety, quality checks, and responses to abnormalities)
The conditions you set are saved with the course and will be the default settings the next time you generate questions for that course.
You select which generated questions to include:
- Generated questions appear on the screen with correct answers marked. Deselect questions you don't want to include by clicking on the row
- If questions already exist, you can choose either "Add after existing questions" (default setting) or "Replace existing questions"
- If the generated questions are not what you expected, use "Change settings and regenerate" to return to the settings screen
We have expanded the range of text AI reads:
Previously, AI only read the procedure headings and questions when generating questions. Now, AI also reads the procedure body text, work tips, quality warnings, and safety-critical items. This makes it easier to create questions about safety and quality checks.
You can now reorder assessment test questions by dragging:
You can now drag the handle on the left end of assessment test questions to change their order.
Course name and description AI generation now creates in the same language as the procedure:
Previously, "AI-generated" course names and descriptions were created in Japanese. Now they are created in the same language as the procedure guide name.
Usage requirements:
The course feature is available with Core, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Owners, team administrators, and group administrators can create courses. For more information, see Education feature: How to create and assign courses and view progress.
2. You can now alternate between reference material pages and video procedure steps
When you specify a "Same as SOP" reference work procedure in the AI processing options and create a procedure from a video that has been analyzed using "Split according to the document's steps", you can now place a reference material page as a single procedure step, inserting it before the video procedure step that corresponds to that page. This allows you to create a procedure where viewers see a page from a paper work standard before watching the related video.
Example: Material page 1 → Video procedure → Material page 2 → Video procedure → ...
How to use:
In "Step conversion settings" that opens when creating a procedure, check "Alternate reference pages with video steps" under "Materials". The default setting is off.
- The heading for material page procedures is "Material name (page P.xx)". No body text is included, and text-to-speech is off (the material text is included in the body of the video procedure)
- When multiple video procedures correspond to one page, the page procedure appears only once where the page changes
- Videos are split into separate video procedure blocks at page boundaries. Video editing and audio settings are configured for each block
- This feature is available when creating from material pages, in new creation screens (sidebar, folder, plus button in My Tasks), and when adding videos on the procedure editing screen
- If pages could not be inserted (video not split according to document steps, material could not be loaded, or procedures could not be matched to pages), we will notify you of the reason
Additionally, when creating a procedure from videos with reference materials from the new creation screen, you can now use "Register as a related file of the procedure" and "Register the corresponding page as an attachment on each step".
For more information, see Step conversion settings (audio, captions, questions, materials).
3. Procedure language remains consistent even when material and video languages differ
With "Split according to the document's steps", the procedure title and body use the material text. Previously, when the material was processed by AI in a language different from the video, only the procedure title and body would be in the material language, causing language mixing within a single procedure.
With this release, when the material language and the video's "Recognition language" differ, the material procedure is translated into the video language before being used. Tips for work, quality warnings, and safety-critical items are also written in the video language. When translating, we reference terminology from the Terminology Glossary. When the material and video languages are the same, there is no change from before.
Example: When using a Japanese work standard as reference and analyzing a video explained in Vietnamese with "Recognition language" set to Vietnamese, all procedures will be in Vietnamese.
For more information, see Specifying a reference procedure guide in video analysis (beta).
4. You can now restore multiple disabled users at once
In user management, the "Disabled users" list opened under "Disabled users" now includes the following operations:
- Search: Find users by name, email, or Login ID
- Filter: By permission, login type (Email / Email-free) or reason (Account limit / Administrator action)
- Sort: By name or Disabled at
- Pagination: 20, 50, or 100 users per page
- Check to select and use "Restore in bulk". You can also select all users across all pages at once
When account limit would be exceeded, you can choose how to restore:
If restoring the selected users with their original permissions would exceed the account limit, a screen opens where you can choose "Restore with original permission", "Restore as guest", or "Do not restore" for each user. A default suggestion is provided (restore users with higher permissions with original permission, restore others as guests) to stay within the limit. Users restored as guests can have their permissions changed in the user list once account space becomes available.
Users can only be restored as guests if your plan allows guest invitations and there is available space in the guest invitation limit. Only owners and team administrators can perform restoration. For more information, see Restoring disabled users.
5. Other improvements and bug fixes
Procedure creation and editing:
- "Step conversion settings" is now organized as collapsible sections for "Audio", "Captions", "Questions", "Materials", and "Other". Even when collapsed, the selected content appears to the right of the heading. Sections open fully collapsed on first use, and the state is preserved on subsequent use. When no keywords are found and all questions are unchecked, the "Questions" section automatically opens to notify you
- Fixed an issue where second and subsequent AI processing ("Re-run AI") failed for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint materials (from September 27 onwards). PDF and image materials are not affected
- Fixed an issue where pressing "Apply all" in the video editor after splitting video procedure blocks would apply changes all the way to other split sections, causing duplicate procedures. Timeline content for other block sections is preserved, but approval, cut additions/deletions, and boundary adjustments are not possible in this block (applies to blocks split on or after October 9)
- Fixed an issue where the "Register the corresponding page as an attachment on each step" setting would be disabled when creating procedures from videos that cannot use this feature, even when it was enabled in "Step conversion settings"
- Fixed an issue where "Generating step..." would not disappear in the procedure editing screen when reference material loading took a long time
Education:
- Fixed an issue where "Shuffle the order of the choices on every attempt" in assessment tests would not save as disabled even when turned off (from September 10 onwards)
Procedure viewing:
- Fixed an issue where photos taken after answering questions in unstable network areas would not be attached to the activity record even after network connectivity was restored
Other:
- Fixed an issue where point cloud and representative image saving would continue to fail after a save error in AR editing
Impact on existing customers
There are no changes to saved data or settings (feature 2 starts disabled). Please check the following two points:
- Courses where you disabled "Shuffle the order of the choices on every attempt" will remain shuffled. For courses where you want to disable it, please turn it off again in the course editing screen and save
- Feature 3 applies to videos analyzed after October 9 by selecting a reference work procedure in the AI processing options. If you are re-running AI processing on materials where you selected a reference work procedure before that date, please select the reference work procedure again
Thank you for continuing to use Dive!
