By using the Preload feature, you can use SOPs in an environment with no internet connection, just as you can when online. It also works in a web browser. Translations are supported as well.

How to play offline

If you open Dive in an environment without an internet connection, a dedicated page opens. The SOPs you preloaded are shown here, so open the SOP you want and use it.

Notes on specifications

- Depending on browser settings and storage conditions, loaded data may be deleted automatically.

- When you log out, all preloaded data is deleted. Data is also deleted in the case of automatic logout due to inactivity or similar.

- Because the data is expected to be large, we recommend doing this over Wi-Fi.

Specifications for the smartphone app

If you use Dive in an environment with poor connectivity, we recommend using the smartphone app.

On the smartphone app, preloaded data is saved to the app's in-app storage, so it can be stored reliably (it is less likely to be deleted automatically).
On both the web browser and the smartphone app, the range you played is automatically saved to the device. From the second time onward, playback is faster, and you can play that range offline. However, auto-saved data may be deleted starting with the oldest, depending on the free space on the device. For SOPs you definitely need to take out, please use Preload. File-based SOPs save the file to the device once it has been opened (except PDFs larger than 50 MB).

How to preload

Even when offline, open [...] on an SOP you have played and click [Preload]
Click [Preload]. If you also want to use translations, turn on "Also preload translations".
Loading starts. For SOPs with read-aloud audio, this may take some time.
When a success message appears and [Preloaded] is shown on the SOP, you are done.

About preparing configuration data for offline use

In addition to SOPs, media, translations, and read-aloud audio, Preload also saves the data needed to display screens offline to the device. Right after the app or screens are updated, this preparation may take a few minutes.

While preparing, a count is shown, such as "Preparing offline configuration data (120/467). Do not close the screen." If you close the screen partway through, you have to start over from the beginning, so please wait until it finishes.

If the preparation does not finish, the message "Offline configuration data is incomplete" appears. The SOP data has already been saved, so please run Preload again in a place with a stable connection.

About the display language when offline

SOP translations and read-aloud audio can be used offline in the language you selected when you preloaded.

File-based SOPs and the PDFs shown in steps are also prepared and loaded in the language you selected when you preloaded (translating files is available on the Pro and Enterprise plans. Translate and view file-based SOPs and step PDFs (machine translation)).

The display language for buttons and menus can be switched offline only for languages you have displayed once while online. If you switch to a language you have never displayed, the screen is shown in Japanese. If you use multiple languages, open the screen once in each language you will use before taking the device to the site.

About searching offline

Searching by entering a word in the search box works only when you are online. While offline, the message "Cannot search because you are offline" is shown. When offline, open the preloaded SOPs shown on the offline page.

After an update

After the Dive screens or SOPs are updated, please run Preload again in a place where you can connect to the internet. The content you last opened while online will be displayed offline.
