We have released a major feature update focused on field deployment and operational management. This release significantly improves the operational experience with features designed to "distribute Dive across the field," "share safely with external partners," and "provide support anytime." This article outlines the key points of this update.
1: Bulk Print QR
Previously, QR code printing was limited to one SOP at a time, requiring repeated printing cycles to post Dive across different areas, shelves, machines, and processes in the field. With this release, you can now print multiple SOPs and folders together on A4 paper in a single batch.
● Selectable Print Layouts
- Choose from A4 1, 4, 9, or 24 layouts depending on the space where you'll post them
- Use 1-layout for large displays, 24-layout for shelf tags and fine details, and 4–9 layouts for standard field operations—all from a single print job
● Fine-Grained Control Over Display Information
- Toggle SOP name / overview / step count / URL / thumbnail individually
- Choose whether to print "folders only," "SOPs only," or "include the folder itself"
- QR code size automatically optimizes based on layout and display items
This transforms QR operations from "let's try printing one sheet" to "deploy across the entire field in a single print job," scaling your QR management workflow.
2: Redesigned User Management UI
The previous user management screen stacked features like groups, members, invitations, transfers, and permission changes vertically, making it difficult to see at a glance "who belongs to which group with what permissions." This release completely restructures the screen layout.
● New User Management Structure
- Two-pane layout: group tree on the left / member list on the right. Selecting a group updates the right pane to show that group's members
- Member details slide in from the right: click a row to slide open details without leaving the screen, allowing you to edit permissions, group affiliation, and sync status on the spot
- Filter bar: instant filtering by name, email address, or role
- Scope bar: toggle "Only me" and "Entire team" in one click (options vary by permission)
- Batch operations bar: appears when multiple members are selected, letting you add to groups or change permissions in bulk
● Simplified Invitations and Syncing
- Invitation modal: consolidates email entry, group, and permission assignment into a single modal
- Add to group modal: separates the operation of adding selected members to groups
User management evolves from "filling out a long form top to bottom" to "navigating between the org chart and member list while making only necessary changes on the spot." The design scales from 100 to 1000+ members without breaking.
3: Permitted User Roles Per Feature
In the past, whether a feature was available or not was fixed by role, preventing you from "letting field members export SOP PDFs" or "limiting external sharing URLs to managers and above" based on your organization's policy. This release lets you configure feature availability by role from the admin screen.
● Configurable Features (Initial Release)
- SOP file export (PDF / Excel / MP4): control when SOPs can be taken outside Dive based on your data handling policy
- Export folder to Excel: folder-level inventory export including SOP info and URLs
- Issue external sharing URL: generate time-limited URLs for external partners
● Permission Levels
- Choose from: "Everyone (including guests)," "View-only user and above," "Created user and above," "Group Administrator and above," "Team Administrator and above," or "Owner only"
- For roles without permission, the corresponding button or menu is completely hidden—not disabled, but invisible from the start—preventing field confusion
- The "Restore defaults" button returns everything to Dive's recommended settings in one click
Dive becomes a platform where you can "adjust the balance between field freedom and information governance to match your organization's policy" for each customer. We will continue expanding the feature set over time.
4: Manage Issued External Sharing URLs
Dive has long offered the ability to issue time-limited external sharing URLs for contractors, vendors, and new hires to view SOPs. However, there was no central way to track and manage "who shared what, when, and until when," leaving URL governance to individual users. This release adds a dedicated management screen for issued external sharing URLs.
● What You Can Do in the Management Screen
- View issued URLs: see at a glance who shared which SOP, when, and for how long
- Extend or shorten expiry: instantly adjust deadlines such as "add one more week" or "stop sharing immediately"
- Disable (revoke) and restore: immediately disable URLs if shared by mistake or if circumstances change. Undo accidental revocations with one click
- Toggle active and inactive views: normally show active URLs, and optionally display disabled and expired ones
● Visibility by Permission Level
- Members: see only URLs they issued themselves, managing only their own responsibility scope
- Owner / Team Administrator: toggle between "Only me" and "Entire team" to get a full view of sharing activity for auditing and inventory
External sharing shifts from "issue and forget" to "an asset managed in a visible, centralized place," letting you confidently use external sharing as part of your security operations.
5: Mobile Support for Remote Support
Remote support has only been available to supporters (experienced staff and managers) from a PC. However, field requests for help happen while in transit, on business trips, or during site visits—when a PC is unavailable—creating a gap: "I see the request but can't respond right away." This release enables supporters to respond from a smartphone.
● What Changes with Mobile Support
- Respond to support requests from anywhere: provide phone calls, screen sharing, and annotations from transit, business trips, or while visiting other sites on a smartphone
- Faster response time: keep field team members from waiting long, reducing downtime risk
- Both supporters and those requesting support can use mobile. For example: a manager at head office on a smartphone responds to a field worker or smart-glass user requesting help
We've also improved how messages display at the start of support and optimized the call screen layout for smartphone use.
Remote support evolves from "only works when someone is at a PC" to "a tool that lets experienced staff help field problems wherever they are."
6: Other Improvements
- Refactored delete and undo logic: unified the delete and undo behavior for SOPs, folders, and members, making recovery from mistakes consistent
- Safer folder moves: added safeguards to prevent accidental folder drops when using drag and drop
- Team logo upload: admins can now set a team logo, letting you customize Dive to match your team's brand
- Fixed external sharing URL bug: corrected a bug where URL generation failed under certain conditions
For Existing Users
All these features are new additions and improvements to existing behavior. Your current SOPs, groups, user settings, and issued external sharing URLs are unaffected and work seamlessly from today.
Access Bulk Print QR from the SOP list selection, the new User management screen from "User management (Groups)" in the left menu, permission settings from the "Permitted user roles per feature" section in the admin panel, issued external sharing URL management from the sharing menu in the SOP preview screen, and mobile remote support from the latest version of the Dive app.
Permission settings by feature come with Dive's recommended default values enabled, so your operations remain unchanged. Adjust them only if you want to align with your own policies.
From creating video SOPs, distributing them, protecting them, to supporting your teams—all of this continues to work reliably as your operations scale. We hope this update becomes the foundation for your field deployment and operational governance.
