In the video editor, you can listen to narration audio for subtitles right here. Before you export the Entire procedure and play it back, you can check intonation, speed, and reading accuracy on a subtitle-by-subtitle basis.
When to use this
- Check if technical terms are pronounced correctly before exporting
- Find out if the pauses in narration sound natural for long subtitles
- After changing the Pronunciation Dictionary (registering pronunciation), listen to the effect right away
- For multilingual subtitles, check if the translated narration is easy to understand
Before you start
- The target step must have "Subtitle narration" turned ON (OFF subtitles cannot be previewed)
- The Subtitles you want to preview must have text entered (hidden or empty subtitles cannot be previewed)
You can switch subtitle narration ON/OFF in the Audio settings when you Select step in the video editor. The option is called "Narration target" — select "Subtitles" to preview.
Preview one subtitle at a time
- Open the video editor and check the Subtitles lined up in the Timeline at the bottom
- Click the [Preview] button (speaker icon) for the Subtitles you want to listen to
- The video jumps to the beginning of the Subtitles, and the narration audio plays right here (the video also plays in sync)
- Click the same button again to Stop
While playing, you can also listen to the Subtitles displayed on screen using the speaker icon that appears above the video.
About Video and Audio sync
- While previewing, the Video's original Audio is automatically Muted and you hear only the narration
- The Video position and narration Audio stay in sync, and playback stops automatically when the Subtitles range ends
- Cut sections (sections excluded by editing) are compressed on the Audio side just like in playback
- If you Seek in the Timeline while previewing, the preview stops automatically
- If there is a static Shapes in the Step, the narration continues reading through it (just like in playback)
- For Subtitles that were sped up to fit the frame, the speed is returned to normal during preview. The speed you hear in preview is the speed you will hear in playback

- Preview does not affect the SOP: Since it is for Preview only, the confirmed narration Data is not Changed
No preview/No sound
- Check that the "Narration target" For the target Step is set to "Subtitles" (not "None/Description")
- If the Subtitles have no text entered or are set to Hide, they cannot be previewed
- Also Check if your browser's Audio is Muted and your PC's volume Settings
- The first playback requires User action (clicking). Autoplay may be blocked by browser restrictions
