We reviewed scenarios where things seem to stop without clear reasons—like "nothing happens even when I click" or "all it shows is Failed". At the same time, we standardized smart glass operations across all device types.
① When publishing with 0 recipients, we now show you the reason and how to fix it
When publishing a SOP, if no one in the folder can access it, you would previously see only two empty dropdown fields. You couldn't tell if the page was still Loading, the Filter was too strict, or there simply was no one with access.
Instead of showing empty fields, we now display the reason and how to fix it.
No one with access to this folder can receive the notification. The folder's Access Restriction Settings either has no group set for viewing, or the group that was set has been deleted. If you publish as-is, no one will receive the notification email. Check the "Access Restriction Settings" for this folder.
② Stale browser tabs now prompt you to reload
The page your browser shows is the state from when you opened it. Even if we update Dive, an open tab won't see the new content. While you stay on the same screen and keep working, it won't update even when you switch tabs.
If your screen has become too stale, we now prompt you from the lower right. Press "Reload" to get the latest state.
- This won't alert you every time we update. We only notify you when we raise the standard.
- We don't automatically reload. If you reload while uploading, that upload will stop, so we leave the decision to you.
- We don't show this alert if an upload is in progress.
③ Detect broken videos at upload and show the conversion failure reason
A video file that is corrupted on your computer will pass Upload but always fail during conversion. We used to show only "Processing failed", and pressing "Retry" would keep failing with the same file.
- We check at the Upload entry point. Before you even Send a corrupted video, we tell you: "The video file is corrupted and can't be read. Export the original video again and Upload it."
- We display the failure reason on the media card. Instead of just "Failed", you can now read what caused it and what to do next.
- In the Upload tray, the remedy steps at the end of the reason won't be cut off—they wrap fully on multiple lines.
● When conversion is backlogged, we let you know
Video conversion has a limit on how many can run at once. If you upload many files at once, we may temporarily hit that limit. This is not a file problem but congestion, so we now tell you: "Video conversion is currently backed up. Please wait a while and retry." If you wait and press "Retry", the same file will go through (you don't need to Upload again).
④ Standardized smart glass operations across all device types
On RealWear devices, we used to display number badges (Item 1, Item 2...) on screen items and you'd select by reading the numbers. On the SOP player and quiz screens, selecting by number didn't always work, and we heard "it doesn't work as expected".
We removed the number badges and standardized operations across all devices to move focus with "Up" / "Down" and confirm with "Select". This is the same operation system as Vuzix devices.
On the quiz screen and Step list, we show "Up / Down / Select" voice hints on screen. Now that numbers are gone, these hints serve as operation guidance.
● Improvements for small-screen devices
- Reference mode (skip quizzes and just read) is no longer remembered. It always starts Off each time you open. On small-screen devices, switch placement is limited, and if it stays On, quizzes won't appear at all.
- We removed the search button from the Step list. This feature assumes you can type keywords, which doesn't work as an entry point for voice and focus navigation on these devices.
⑤ Other improvements and bug fixes
● User registration and invitations
- Disabled Users can no longer be newly registered again. Before, you could create the same person as a new User, leaving their skill, credential, and education history on the old account while creating a duplicate. We now block this in all four places: individual invitations, bulk import, import preview, and email-free account issuance. We guide you to restore from the "Disabled" list.
- We unified the screen wording to "Disable" (previously "Delete" was the old term, but the actual button and message said "Disabled")
● Contracts and estimates
- On the Estimate screen, we now always show the link to how to proceed if you also want to change the contract period (Annual contract or 3-month contract) at the same time. Previously, this guidance only showed when you hovered your mouse.
● SOP creation and editing
- On smartphone, "AI consultation before you build" now takes the full screen for the conversation. What is decided appears in a band below the conversation, and pressing the band opens it as a sheet from the bottom. Previously, the two columns stayed side by side, and the conversation wrapped one character at a time, making it unreadable.
- On the Pre-publish check screen, the buttons in the row where folder options appear weren't aligned—the Selected row had different height. We fixed it.
- We fixed an issue where an internal "root" string could appear mixed into the folder path display.
- On smartphone width, the screen for "Choose a language" now displays in 3 columns.
Impact on existing customers
No changes require reconfiguring settings. If you use smart glasses, the operation method on RealWear devices has changed, so please inform your team.
