Begin Video and Text Editing
- If open, click the "Close" button in the upper left of the SOP player.
- Click "Edit video".
Note: The button will not appear on phones or tablets because editing is not supported on those devices. Please perform this on a PC. - The video editor will open.
Understanding the Video Editor Layout
The video editor has the following structure.
-
Top Bar
You can edit the currently displayed step name and confirm video edits. -
Per-Step Information Editing
You can edit text and make edits within the video for the currently displayed step. -
Timeline
You can seek through the video and adjust dividers, etc. When you enable subtitles or shapes for export, a dedicated timeline will appear.
Trying Different Edits
We have organized the recommended implementation levels (★★★ to ★). Let's start with the most recommended "Text editing".
Text Editing (Recommended Implementation Level ★★★)
This is the most important edit when using Dive. Express in text what could not be fully explained in the video. Whether the procedure becomes something actually used on the floor depends on this text. When viewers are confused while working, it determines whether they can find the answer using just the SOP without asking a senior.
- Click (seek) the relevant divider range from the timeline. *In the example below, editing is done in the range of Step2.
-
Enter information in the step title and text fields. The title and text generated during AI analysis will be pre-filled as initial values.
Step title: Enter the step heading. Noun form is recommended.Text should be organized as follows:
| Field | What to Enter | Example |
| Work to Perform |
What to Do Enter specifically what work is actually performed in that step. Make the steps, operations, and sequence clear so users won't get confused, and write in imperative form (do this). |
Insert part A into the designated position on the main body and secure with 2 bolts. Confirm the orientation of the insertion port and press firmly all the way in before tightening the bolts. |
| Work tips |
How to Do It Well Enter points to smooth progress and supplementary information to aid understanding. |
- Part A installs correctly when the protrusion is oriented upward. - Lightly thread both bolts first, then fully tighten to prevent misalignment. |
| Quality Warning |
What Goes Wrong Enter prohibited actions (NG behaviors) and points to observe to prevent work errors, defects, and rework. |
- Forcing insertion risks part damage; if it's difficult, recheck the orientation. - Over-tightening can strip the bolt. - Check for debris in the insertion port beforehand. |
| Important safety information |
What Is Dangerous Enter content that could lead to injury or accidents if not followed. |
- Always turn off power before work. - Wear gloves and be careful not to catch your hands. - Confirm no one is nearby when using tools. |
You can also use "AI Organize" to automatically organize text based on content entered in the work to perform section (available to Pro Plan and Enterprise Plan users only).
Cutting Unnecessary Portions (Recommended Implementation Level ★★)
If there are unnecessary video ranges, cut them out.
- Click the eye icon button on an unnecessary divider on the timeline (in the example below, Step4 content is assumed to be unnecessary).
-
The cut portion will be blacked out. Also, the step numbers of subsequent steps will be updated.
- If you don't want to separate subsequent steps, click the "Merge" button.
- The steps will be merged and treated as one step. The cut portion height decreases, and subsequent step numbers change.
Adjusting Dividers (Recommended Implementation Level ★★)
Changing Divider Timing
You can change it by dragging the relevant divider.
Adding a Divider
You can add a divider by seeking to the desired location and clicking the "Scissors" button.
Deleting a Divider
When you select a divider you want to delete, an "X" button will appear, and you can delete it by clicking that button.
(You can also delete with the Backspace or Delete key)
Using Subtitles and Shapes (Recommended Implementation Level ★)
For further refinement, use subtitles and/or shapes as needed.
See below for specific operating procedures.
Editing is now complete. Let's move on to confirming the edits.
Confirm Edits
- Once you've finished editing, click "Confirm edits".
- Thumbnail extraction for each step will begin, so please wait (for steps with no changes, this will be skipped in the future).
-
The confirmation process is complete, the video editor closes automatically, and information in the editing screen is updated. Click "Open SOP" to check the content, and if corrections are needed, click "Edit video" again.
Supplementary Note 1:
You can change the narration target and set muting from "Audio settings".
Supplementary Note 2:
If you want to use different videos or images for another step, click "+ Add step" and select and add the desired content.Supplementary Note 3:
If you want to insert a different video procedure in a sequence of videos, use "Split step block".
Now your SOP has all the necessary information for each step!
With this level of detail, viewers can proceed with work using just the SOP without asking a senior, even when confused.
The SOP is still in draft status, so it's complete once you publish it for actual use.
