A feature that allows you to register questions set on SOPs (pass/fail judgment questions, multiple choice, numeric range, etc.) as templates and apply them in bulk to multiple SOPs. This eliminates the need to repeatedly set similar inspection questions—simply select a template once.
Question templates are available with the Pro Plan or higher.
When to Use
- When managing inspection tables or checklists and need to set pass/fail judgments like "No issues / Needs repair" on many SOPs
- When you want to reuse specification questions across multiple SOPs, such as numeric range checks (example: Pressure 0.8–1.2 MPa)
- When you want to standardize questions with identical options and correct answers (example: "Done" / "Not performed" → Done) and save them as templates
- When you want to replace questions with strong idiosyncrasies from past SOPs with a team standard question set all at once
Create a Question Template
- Open Dictionary / Templates in the sidebar
- Switch to Templates from the tabs at the top
- Click Create New Template
- Fill in the following:
- Template name (example: Pass/Fail Standard / Pressure Check 0.8–1.2 MPa)
- Question type: Multiple choice / Numeric range / Multiple choice with pass/fail judgment, etc.
- Question text (the wording shown on the shop floor)
- Configuration for options / correct answer / pass/fail judgment
- Click Save, and it will be shared across the entire team
Templates you create can be edited or deleted from the template list. When you update the question contents later, the changes apply to future applications (existing SOPs that have already been applied will not change).
Apply a Template to a Single SOP
In the SOP editor, open the target SOP and click Choose from template in the question settings field. When you select from the template list, the question on that SOP will be replaced with the template contents (you can also add to SOPs without questions).
Apply a Template in Bulk to Multiple SOPs
When you want to "insert the same template everywhere in this SOP at once"—say, in 10 places—use the bulk edit modal.
- Open the target SOP in Edit mode
- Click Other menu → Bulk edit at the top right
- Switch to Questions in the modal tabs at the top
- Select Use template from the action toggle segment
- Choose the question template you want to apply from the dropdown
- Turn ON the checkbox for the steps you want to apply to (default is select all; you can also use filter search)
- Click Apply template to N selected items
This applies the template's questions to all target SOPs. Since the template can add questions even to SOPs without configured questions, you can also insert questions into SOPs you're converting to inspection tables.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can I use this feature with Free / Lite / Core plans?
A. This feature is available with the Pro Plan or higher. When opening the bulk edit modal on a lower plan, a call-to-action (CTA) for a higher plan trial will appear when executing the Use template action.
Q. When I update a template, does it automatically apply to SOPs I've already applied it to?
A. No, it does not. Templates are incorporated into SOPs as a "snapshot at the time of application," so editing a template later will not change existing SOP contents (this design prevents unintended bulk changes). If you want to apply updates, apply the template again.
Q. What happens to the original question when I replace with a template?
A. The question (question type / question text / options / correct answer / pass/fail judgment) in the selected SOP will be replaced with the template contents. Other elements such as the step text, title, and video are not affected. For SOPs without questions, the template question will be added.
Q. Where do I manage team templates?
A. On the Dictionary / Templates page in the sidebar, go to the Templates tab. It's consolidated with the Pronunciation Dictionary, Terminology Glossary, Notation Unification Dictionary, and Tags.
