About Step-Level Questions Configuration
You can set question items for each step in your created SOP. In normal questions, you cannot proceed to the next step until you answer (or, if a correct answer is set, until you answer correctly). As exceptions, questions with conditional branching enabled will advance to the branch destination even with an incorrect answer, and Continue when unexpected questions will proceed even when abnormal. The entered results can be saved as work records, so they can be used for work management checklists and confirming completion status in Skill Map and how to view Skill Marks.
The question content you can configure is as follows:
- Yes/No selection
- Single selection
- Multiple selection
- Free input (numeric)
- Free input (text)
Three Ways to Use Questions
Questions are a mechanism to verify "correctness" on the spot. By changing just two settings—AI's Question type and each question's Continue when unexpected setting—you can switch between the following three modes:
| Use | Configuration | Behavior |
| On-site check (default) | Question type = On-site check / Continue when unexpected OFF | The operator verifies their work on the spot. If incorrect, they cannot proceed to the next step. This is the digital equivalent of pointing and calling |
| Checklist / Inspection checklist | Question type = On-site check / Continue when unexpected ON | Even if unexpected, the work continues without stopping, and "Abnormal" is recorded in the work records |
| Comprehension test | Question type = Comprehension test / Continue when unexpected OFF | Tests memory. Select this when using for training or confirming proficiency |
When creating an SOP from video, materials analyzed as "On-site check" for Question type start with Continue when unexpected turned ON (checklist / inspection checklist behavior). If you want to stop when the answer is wrong, turn it OFF before SOP creation, or after creation, use Bulk edit's Question tab → Result to set it to "Stop until as expected" (Removing all questions at once (removing only questions from the SOP)).
Question type is the choice when having AI generate questions (for details, see AI Processing Options: Each Item and How to Choose). For manually created questions, there is no distinction in Question type; you decide how to create the choices yourself.
Step-level questions have no scores or pass/fail. Only answers and attempts are recorded. If you want to set a pass threshold and grade, use the Training (Courses) Assessment test (see Training Feature: How to Create Courses, Assign Them, and View Progress Status).
To see whether to use SOP questions or assessment test questions for skill evaluation, refer to Differentiating Between SOP Questions and Assessment Tests for Skill Evaluation.
Setting the Correct Answer (Cannot Proceed Until Correct)
For choice types (Yes/No, Single selection, Multiple selection), you can set the Correct range. You cannot proceed to the next step until you select the correct answer, preventing work from progressing in an incorrect state. Since all answer attempts are saved, you can understand where target users were stuck on which questions.
For the Free input (numeric) type, you can optionally set the Correct range (lower limit to upper limit). Values outside the range are treated as incorrect. If you've already set a range condition in conditional branching, you can also apply that range as the Correct range with one click.
Checklist and Inspection Checklist Operations (Continue When Unexpected)
If you turn ON the Continue when unexpected checkbox just below the question type selector, that question will record Normal / Abnormal instead of Correct / Incorrect. This item was previously called "Use for pass/fail judgment." The behavior remains unchanged.
- For choice types, a "Normal" column appears in the choices table, and you specify one or more normal choices
- For numeric values, the "Correct range" field switches to "Normal range" and you specify lower limit to upper limit
- Whether normal or abnormal, the SOP continues and proceeds forward, and the answer is recorded as "Abnormal" in the work records
- For details, refer to Questions with Pass/Fail Judgment and Work Records (Checklist and Inspection Checklist Operations)
Configuration Method

-
In the video editor, click [Question] for the relevant step
- You can make the desired configuration from the dropdown.
For Non-Video SOPs (such as images)
You can configure it from [Question] in the relevant step on the edit screen.
