AI Check is a feature that allows AI to review photos submitted by workers a second time, showing results such as "no problems found," "there may be differences," or "cannot determine from the photo" as reference observations. It serves as a double-check, adding an AI perspective to human verification. It does not prevent saving answers, and the results are purely advisory.

This feature is available to Pro and Enterprise plan customers. Configuration is performed through a PC browser. It can only be used with questions that have photo submission set as required.

This feature is provided as a beta version. Specifications and accuracy of results will be improved over time. If you notice any successful examples or cases where results did not match your expectations, please send them to customer-success@episotech.com.

What is AI Check

With questions that require photo submission, AI reviews the photos taken and submitted by workers. The verification method depends on whether a reference image is registered.

When a reference image is registered: AI compares the submitted photo with the reference (Check against the reference)
When no reference image is registered: AI reviews the photo based on the question text and SOP content

The results do not replace final judgments such as "Passed" or "Conforming." Please use them as assistance, with the understanding that verification by workers and managers is required.

Configuration Method

In the SOP editing screen on a PC browser, open the target question and configure it. Since AI Check requires photo submission as a prerequisite, first enable photo submission as required before enabling AI Check.

1. Require photo submission

In the question editing, turn ON Require photo submission.

When turned on, taking and submitting site photos will be required when viewing (multiple photos are allowed). Specify what should be photographed in the question's instructions.

2. Enable AI Check

Turn ON Use AI check which appears below Require photo submission.

3. Register a reference image (optional)

Turn ON Prepare a reference image below the question text.
Upload the reference image.

When a reference image is registered, it becomes "Check against the reference" to compare the submitted photo with the reference. If not registered, verification is based on the question text and SOP content. The reference image is also displayed directly below the question text when viewing. For inspection questions with pass/fail judgments, the standard for "Normal" is also displayed to the worker.

How Workers Use It (When Viewing)

Take and submit site photos in the question (answers cannot be saved without photos).
Once photo submission is complete, Check against the reference (or Check with AI for questions without reference images) becomes available.
Press the button, and AI will review it in a few seconds and display the result.

AI Check is not available when offline. It will be available once you return online. Also, the button cannot be pressed until photo submission is complete.

Using with Smart Glasses

You can also perform AI Check on questions in the SOP playback screen on smart glasses. After taking and submitting photos, press Check against the reference (or Check with AI) using one of the following methods:

Use the touchpad or voice commands "up" or "down" to focus on the button, then say "Select"
Say "Check" with voice (this can be executed regardless of button focus)

When "Check" is available, the microphone hint on the question screen also displays guidance. The button cannot be pressed until photo submission is complete, so the hint is also not displayed.

During free text entry such as comments, "Check" is entered as text and does not function as a command. Once focus is removed from the input field, it can be used as a voice command again.

Also, while taking photos in a question, video playback and narration of the SOP temporarily pause. They resume to the normal state once shooting is complete.

How to Interpret Results

Results are displayed as one of the following three types:

Match confirmed / No problems found: A state where the reference matches or no problems were found (verify reference observations and latest status yourself)
May differ / Needs re-check: The reference may differ or there may be a problem. Please verify again
Cannot determine from photo: A state where determination was not possible because the target is not clearly visible, etc. Please retake the photo so the target is clearly visible, then verify again

All results are reference observations. Final pass/fail judgment must be made by the worker or manager.

Verify results later (Work records)

AI Check results are not only displayed to workers on the spot, but are also recorded in Work records (Inspection checklist). Managers can later verify what AI said for which question in whose performance.

Table cells: A small badge appears next to the submitted photos (AI◎ = no problems found / AI! = needs re-check / AI? = cannot determine). Hovering over it displays AI observations and reasoning.
Details of one performance: Clicking a row displays AI observations and reasoning in full for each question.
CSV Export: Cells are annotated as "(AI: Needs check)" at the end.

AI observations appear only as notes and do not rewrite the worker's answers (OK/NG judgments). The inspection records themselves remain as they were, with the worker's answer as the primary information.
