This release adds the ability to connect Dive with files you already have. Files in Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive can be imported as materials without downloading them. We have also added the ability to specify the language when opening shared URLs, and to choose how AI generates questions.
① You can now integrate files from Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
Until now, to use videos or materials from SharePoint or Teams in Dive, you had to download them to your computer first, then upload them to Dive. For a 5GB video, that meant 5GB for download and 5GB for upload—10GB total through your local network. Larger videos created a significant burden.
This release adds a Teams / SharePoint button to the material selection screen. Click it, and the Microsoft file browser opens, allowing you to select and import files from Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive on the spot.
● No need to re-download and re-upload
Dive's servers receive the video directly from Microsoft 365. The file contents do not pass through your browser, so even large videos do not consume your local bandwidth.
● Which files can be imported
- Videos, images, PDFs, and other files can be imported if they are in a format that Dive accepts for upload (the same format, size, and length restrictions as uploading from a computer apply)
- After import, they are treated exactly like materials uploaded from a computer—AI analysis, SOP creation, linking related files, and more
- Multiple files can be selected and imported together
● Import is "a snapshot at that moment"
What enters Dive is the content at the time of import; the original remains in Microsoft 365. Imported materials are marked so you know which file they came from. If the original is updated after import, the mark changes, and you can import the latest version as a new item. This prevents working from an outdated version of materials when creating SOPs.
● You can add SOP links directly to files at their original location
Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PDF files imported from Microsoft 365 can now be selected as the output destination in the Auto-add SOP links to existing Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PDF files feature—specifically, the file at its original location. No need to download and redistribute; users opening a checklist in SharePoint can navigate directly to the SOP.
● How to set up the connection
- Each user connects once per device they use. Go to the user menu in the top right → External service integration to connect
- Only users with Created user permissions or higher can connect
- Work or school Microsoft accounts are eligible (personal Microsoft accounts are not)
- It does not need to be the same account you use to log into Dive
- At connection, we only ask for read permission. Write permission to the original file is requested only when adding the SOP link to the original location
● Terms of use
- Import and connection: available in Lite, Core, Pro, and Enterprise plans
- Adding SOP links to files at their original location: available in Pro and Enterprise plans
- Administrators can disable this integration team-wide only in the Enterprise plan (default is Use)
For instructions, see Import files from Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
② You can now specify the language when opening shared URLs
Until now, when opening shared URLs or QR codes to view an SOP, the screen language followed the viewer's device settings. When sharing with overseas offices or international staff, the screen would open in Japanese first, requiring them to manually switch languages.
This release adds an Open with a specified language checkbox to the sharing screen. When enabled, you can specify two things:
● What you can specify
- Screen display language (the language of buttons and menus; 29 languages)
- SOP translation (which language to display the body text and subtitles in; you can also choose no translation, to show the original)
The specified settings are reflected in the copied URL, QR code, print view, and copies from the list of issued URLs. You can now distribute QR codes that open in Vietnamese to Vietnamese staff, URLs in English to English-speaking partners, and so on.
● The viewer's settings are not overwritten
The specification applies only when that URL is opened. Viewers can still select their preferred language after opening, and their default language settings remain unchanged.
③ You can now choose the question type as "On-site check" or "Comprehension test"
Dive's SOP player is designed to not award points or pass/fail judgment—it simply requires answering before proceeding. Yet, AI-generated questions have until now been created as memory tests. This led to workers getting stuck mid-procedure and bearing only the burden of a test, with no practical benefit.
This release adds a Question type option to AI processing settings and changes the default to "On-site check".
● On-site check (default)
Creates questions for workers to verify their work at that moment. Answer choices include only those that could realistically occur in that step. Unrealistic wrong answers are not created. You can use it as a digital version of pointing-and-calling.
● Comprehension test
Same approach as before. Includes unrealistic wrong answers to test memory. Choose this when using questions for education or proficiency verification.
● Initial settings when creating SOPs have been aligned
When creating an SOP from a video, question settings reflect the question type from analysis. Materials analyzed as "On-site check" will have the setting to continue even with unexpected answers and record the result enabled by default.
● The wording of "use as a pass/fail judgment" has changed
The checkbox labeled use as a pass/fail judgment in question settings is now called Continue when unexpected. The behavior remains the same. The term "pass/fail judgment" was unclear to new users, and we received many inquiries. The bulk-edit option apply pass/fail judgment is now similarly Allow continuing even when the answer is unexpected. The recorded labels "Normal" and "Abnormal" remain unchanged.
④ Administrators can now configure login state handling
Until now, whether to remain logged in was decided by each user via a checkbox on the login screen. This release allows team administrators to set this globally.
We have added Session to Owner Functions > Security.
● Time until logout with no activity
Choose from 30 minutes to 24 hours. You can also set it to never expire. Automatic logout does not occur while the SOP player is open, during a remote support call, or while uploading materials.
● Maximum time from login to logout
Choose from 24 hours to 90 days. You can also set it to never expire. Beyond this time, login is required again, regardless of activity.
● Exclude from automatic logout
Users such as those using always-on display terminals or shared tablets on the floor, who need to remain logged in, can be exempted at the group or individual level.
We have also added Logged-in devices. Check which devices team members are logged in to, and force logout in case of device loss or staff departure.
Impact on existing customers
The change of the default question type to "On-site check" applies only to newly analyzed videos. Questions in already-created SOPs will not change. If you prefer the previous question style, select Comprehension test in the AI processing options.
The Microsoft 365 integration and language specification for shared URLs use the previous behavior if not enabled. Other than the name change from "use as a pass/fail judgment," existing settings and SOPs are not altered.
For Session, the default maximum time from login to logout is 30 days. The setting can be changed by an administrator at any time. The "Automatically log me in next time" checkbox on the login screen has been removed, as settings are now managed in one place.
