In addition to the title and overview, you can set document number, items used, and standard time on an SOP. These fields let you carry over the items from your standard work documentation directly into Dive. All plans can use these features.
These three fields are retained for each version of an SOP. When you export a past version, the values from that version appear.
Document number
This is your management number for the SOP. In the SOP editor's "Basic information" tab, you enter it on the spot, just as you would for the title.
If an SOP with the same document number already exists, a notification appears below the input field. We don't prevent you from entering it.
Items used
Register the things used in the work (tools, materials, consumables, protective equipment, etc.). Each item has the following fields:
- Type
- Name
- Part number
- Quantity (with unit)
Decide on type names as a team
The choices that appear in "Type" can be edited per team. Open "Dictionary / Templates" in the side menu and configure them in the "Type of item used" tab.
You can also import them from industry presets. Only items that are missing get added, so you won't get duplicates no matter how many times you import.
Let AI extract them
When you create an SOP from video or reference materials, if you select "Extract items used" in the step conversion settings, AI picks out the items used in the work and writes them on the cover.
You can also use this when you "Insert" video or reference materials into an existing SOP. In the case of insertion, we don't replace the items on the cover—we add to them. Items with the same name and part number are not added twice.
Standard time
The reference time for each step. You set it on each step's "Standard time" card. The total appears in the basic information.
It doesn't change automatically
We treat standard time as a reference value that people decide. We use the video length only as a starting suggestion, and changing the video doesn't automatically update the standard time. If the reference value changed every time you reshot, it would no longer serve as a basis for man-hour estimates.
If you want to bring all steps in line with video length at once, use "Match all steps to their video length" in the basic information. The standard time for steps that have video is overwritten with that video's length.
How the total works
The total is "the sum of only the steps that have values." Even if only some steps have values, you still get a total. The player displays the number of steps already set along with the total.
When it's filled in automatically from Work Analysis
When you create an SOP from a model video built in Work Analysis (Time Analysis), the starting value for each step's standard time is filled in automatically. If you split steps according to element work, you get that element's duration. If you combine steps, you get the sum of those combined durations. Sections you cut don't become steps, so they're not added.
This automatic fill happens only at creation. After that, even if you swap out the video or re-split it, the values don't follow along.

Where your settings appear
- Player … The start screen and step list show the document number, items used, and total standard time. The seconds for each step are also displayed
- SOP list and cards … The document number and items used appear
- Search … You can find SOPs by document number (exact match only) and by the name or part number of items used. Document number is exact match only so that partial matches on part numbers don't pull in a different component
- Export … You can include these in exports to PDF, Word, Excel, and your own format. Use export options to choose which items to include for each
