You can specify the subtitle position, text size, and the language that serves as the reference for narration for each SOP. Configure this from "Playback & display settings" in the [Basic information] section of the SOP editing screen. Use a PC browser.

"Follow device setting"

The subtitle position and text size are initially set to "Follow device setting". In this case, the viewers see content displayed at the position and size they switched to on the playback screen. Since everyone can adjust it to their preference, you do not need to change this if you are just playing back the content.

On the other hand, when you export to MP4, the recording opens in a fresh state each time, so device settings do not apply. If you do not specify settings, the appearance will be determined by the settings on the device of the person who exported it. If you want the exported appearance to be consistent, specify settings on the SOP side.

Configurable items

Original language

Specify the language in which this SOP was written. This serves as the reference for translation and narration. The default is Japanese.

If an SOP created in a language other than Japanese is left unconfigured, the narration audio may not be created correctly when played back without translation. Be sure to confirm this.

Open with the step text pane collapsed

When playing back, the text pane on the right opens in a collapsed state. Viewers can open it from the "Step" tab in the divider.

Subtitle position (Advanced display settings)

The position where subtitles appear during playback and MP4 export.

• Follow device setting (default)
• Bottom / Top / Left / Right
• Off (do not display subtitles)

Text size (Advanced display settings)

The text size for the description pane, step list, and questions during playback and MP4 export. In addition to "Follow device setting" (default), you can choose from: Very small / Small / Slightly small / Standard / Slightly large / Large / Very large.

The size of text burned directly into the video itself does not change.

Items to read aloud (Advanced display settings)

Items to include in text narration. For each of the following, you can switch whether to include them in narration: work tips, quality warnings, and important safety information.

This applies only to steps where the narration target is "Description". For steps where the narration target is "Subtitles", only subtitles are read aloud, so switching this setting has no effect. You select the narration target for each step. To learn how to select it, see Subtitles and text narration feature.

• The step text is always read aloud (you cannot turn it off)
• Items you turn off are excluded from the narration audio, but the screen display does not change
• When you switch settings, the narration audio is regenerated

Use this when narration becomes too long.

Order of settings

When you open "Playback & display settings", the Original language and Open with the step text pane collapsed settings appear first for your confirmation. The default subtitle position, text size, and narration items, which do not need to be changed in most cases, are grouped in "Advanced display settings".
