In this release, we've improved how videos and images are delivered to make display faster. We've also refined how invitation links work, improved MP4 export narration, enhanced video AI analysis stability, and enabled animated GIFs to display as-is.
※ This article describes the release as of 2026-10-02. Starting on October 3, 2026, when you resend an invitation email, the link will be renewed (previously sent invitation email links will continue to work). Invitations sent before October 3rd can no longer be resent. If the link has expired, cancel the invitation first and then invite again. For the latest information, see Add user (email invitation, email-free account).
① Video and image display is now faster
Starting September 29, videos and images in SOPs are now delivered from distribution points near your location (CDN). Once delivered, videos and images are stored at distribution points, so when multiple people at the worksite open the same SOP or when it's accessed from overseas locations, both the time until video playback begins and image display are faster.
No configuration changes are needed on your end. This applies to all screens that display videos and images, including the SOP player, video editor, work analysis, and material lists.
● For customers who restrict outbound connections on internal networks
Distribution uses cdn.divedx.com. If you've already allowed *.divedx.com, no action is needed. If you've registered domains individually, please add cdn.divedx.com. In environments where it's not allowed, images may not display. For details, see About whitelisting for security.
② Invitation links now expire after 7 days
Previously, invitation email links had no expiration date and could be used months after sending. To guard against forwarded links reaching unintended recipients, invitation links now expire after 7 days.
- When an expired link is opened, it displays "The invitation email is no longer valid."
- Expired invitations can be resent using "Resend invitation email" in the User list. When resent, the link becomes valid for another 7 days (the link itself doesn't change).
- Invitations sent more than 30 days before September 28 have already expired. For affected users, please use "Resend invitation email" from the User list. Invitations sent within 30 days are valid for 7 days from September 28.
● We now tell you why an invitation email couldn't be sent
When bulk importing many users from Excel or similar and reaching the email sending limit, the message used to simply say "Invitation failed." In reality, the invitation was registered, but the email wasn't sent.
Now the message will say: "Invitation registered, but the email sending limit has been reached, so the invitation email could not be sent. Please wait a while and resend using 'Resend' from the User list."
③ Improved MP4 export narration
We've comprehensively fixed narration-related issues when exporting SOPs as MP4 video files.
- When exporting in translated languages, narration sometimes didn't play for steps 4 and beyond.
- Steps without narration would sometimes have the previous step's narration overlaid.
- For steps where narration is longer than the video, the narration would extend into the next step.
- When video loops, the loading indicator would briefly appear on screen.
● We now notify you faster with specific reasons when export fails
When exporting an SOP containing videos that can't be loaded, the process used to hang and take up to an hour before sending a failure notification. Now if a video can't be loaded within 3 minutes, we immediately stop and send an email saying "Failed to load video for Step N" with the specific reason.
For details about how the same video repeats for steps with narration, see Why does the same video repeat many times in exported videos?
④ Video AI analysis is now more stable during heavy load
In late September, there were times when AI responses were slow, causing AI analysis of longer videos to fail partway through. We've made three improvements to ensure analysis completes even during heavy load:
- We now wait for AI responses to complete without cutting them off midway.
- When temporary errors occur, we automatically retry.
- When responses are significantly delayed, we submit the same request twice and use whichever result comes back first.
If processing still doesn't complete within the time limit, we'll notify you: "AI response took too long, so processing for this section was stopped." We'll suggest waiting and retrying without changing options.
⑤ Animated GIFs now work as-is
Previously, GIF images uploaded as materials were converted to still images showing only the first frame. Even if you created a GIF showing motion, it would appear frozen in the SOP.
Now GIFs are saved and displayed with animation intact. We've also maintained the original appearance for these image formats:
- WebP and AVIF: Transparent areas that appeared black now display with transparency.
- SVG: Previously converted to raster, so they blurred when zoomed. Now they remain crisp when enlarged.
This applies to images uploaded after September 27. For images uploaded earlier, please reupload them. Note that GIF, SVG, and AVIF formats are not supported by the AI photo-to-SOP creation feature.
⑥ Completion reports are no longer shown to users viewing via shared links
When users viewed SOPs through external shared URLs or QR codes (users not logged in or from other teams) and watched to the end, a completion report screen used to appear. However, even if they submitted a report, no record was kept anywhere — it just showed "Report submitted."
Now when viewing via a shared link, instead of a completion report, we display "You have watched to the end" along with the message "You're viewing via a shared link, so completion reports won't be recorded. Answers to questions and comments won't be saved." When answering questions, we don't show "Answer saved." On the sharing side, the external viewing record will show that they watched to the end.
⑦ Other refinements and bug fixes
● Video import and playback
- We now support importing AV1 video format. Previously, conversion always failed. Materials that previously failed with AV1 can now be imported using "Reprocess."
- When video conversion fails and we can't provide a Japanese error message, instead of showing an English error, we now display "Video conversion failed. If reprocessing doesn't fix it, please export as MP4 (H.264) and reupload."
- We fixed an issue where the failure reason on the material card was cut off outside the card. It now wraps within the card width.
- When HDR video recorded on iPhone or similar was viewed on HDR-capable Android devices, embedded videos, shapes, and text overlaid on the video appeared darkened. We've adjusted the original video brightness to normal range so overlaid elements appear correct (both player and video editor).
- We fixed an issue where shapes placed on portrait videos on iPhone would display misaligned.
- We fixed an issue where embedded video (picture-in-picture) aspect ratio would become distorted when editing videos on iPad.
● SOP creation and editing
- We fixed an issue where immediately after trimming the beginning of a video, if the next step was set to "Merge with previous step," that step would disappear from the SOP when saved. Disappeared steps reappear when you reopen and resave the SOP.
- We fixed an issue where step text written by AI would sometimes display the literal characters "\n" instead of line breaks. For text already saved, please manually correct the line breaks.
- You can now open "Pre-publish check" from the approval, rejection, and publication confirmation screens. Previously you could only open it from the publication request screen, so you couldn't open it from the publication screen for teams without approval workflows or from approval/rejection screens.
- We fixed an issue where step narration couldn't be created if imported PowerPoint text contained Shift + Enter line breaks.
- Screen recording preview no longer closes when clicking [Cancel], pressing Escape, or clicking outside the frame. Since closed recordings can't be recovered, clicking [Cancel] will ask "Discard this recording?"
- We reviewed the speech rate check in the video editor (Check narration speed in the subtitle list). After checking, if you change subtitle timing or shape pause duration, the display updates instantly. Measurement is done in the SOP's original language, and playback is in that language too. Guidance on fixing fast speech has been updated to show methods that actually work (shorten sentences, add gaps between subtitles, add pause duration to shapes).
- We fixed an issue where if subtitles extended outside a step's timeline after moving step split points, narration would pause during shape pause times within that section (both in playback and MP4 export).
- We fixed an issue where bulk-selecting just one material would add a step without images (Add step) or not include related files (Create from file).
- We fixed an issue where selecting multiple regulation files and registering them together would register the original as the cover image and prevent importing the original text.
- In Pre-publish check, when regulations or writing guidelines weren't registered, it used to show "Error." Now it shows "Not applicable (−)." We also fixed an issue where the execution date display and export format completion status would disappear when reopening.
● SOP viewing
- We fixed an issue where attached files would sometimes download multiple times when opened.
- We fixed an issue where the "Preloaded" label in the list wouldn't update after preloading or deleting from the device.
- In "View in 3D," 3D models that couldn't load textures used to appear completely black. Now they display in color (same as the Dive app).
- We fixed an issue where voice command "Submit" triggered mid-step would complete without confirming unanswered questions. "Submit" now only works when the completion report screen is open.
- We've made certificates open faster.
- We fixed an issue in certain network environments like corporate proxies where the login screen would briefly appear before switching to the "Procedures saved on this device" screen.
- In "View in 3D," we fixed an issue where 3D models, AR images, and point clouds sometimes displayed as boxes. We also fixed an issue where animated 3D models appeared oversized and static, and now play a single animation like the Dive app.
- We fixed an issue where SOPs created first in a newly-created team wouldn't appear in search (but would appear after reopening the page).
● AR and smart glasses
- We've reduced flickering when opening and closing AR. Prevented issues like the text area below turning black right after opening, or the edit panel and "Edit AR content" callout remaining after closing (on both iPhone and Android).
- On small smart glasses screens, the operation button row for "Step list," "Description," etc. was overlapping subtitles below. We've moved it to the upper right of the screen.
● Material management
- We fixed an issue where after clearing the search text in the material list, scrolling down wouldn't auto-load more results.
● User management
- When bulk changing or disabling permissions in the User list, we now show how many users couldn't be changed and why. Previously it showed as if everyone succeeded.
- When permission changes hit the account or guest invitation limits, the message now reflects the specific change, such as "The account limit has been reached, so this permission cannot be changed."
- We now check the account limit, group limit, and group hierarchy limit across the entire team even in the Group Administrator view. The account count shown at the top of the screen now displays the entire team's numbers.
● Contracts
- For contracts through resellers, the contract history notes used to show only the reseller name instead of what was entered. Now it displays the entered notes such as purchase order numbers as-is.
Impact on existing customers
No settings need to be reconfigured. If your internal network restricts outbound connections by domain, please add cdn.divedx.com as mentioned in ①. If there are pending invitations, they may have expired per ②, so please use "Resend invitation email" from the User list.
We have a planned mandatory app update on October 14, 2026. For details, see Mandatory app update scheduled for October 14, 2026.
