This release updates how skills are evaluated in Skill Map and automatic skill level updates. We've also enabled adding approvers mid-approval workflow, reorganized bulk editing of SOPs, and streamlined SOP player controls.
① Evaluate multiple skills at once directly from Skill Map
Previously, clicking a cell in Skill Map took you to an individual's skill page, where you had to change each person's skill level one by one. To remove a trial evaluation, you had to click "Reset to not-evaluated" for each entry.
Now you can stay on Skill Map, review details, and change levels for multiple people and multiple skills at once.
● Details open in place when you click a cell
When you click a cell in Skill Map, the details for that person and skill appear on the right side while Skill Map stays open. Click a person's name to go to their individual skill page. Details also open for cells marked as out of scope (grayed out).
We removed the small toggle buttons that were at the top right of each cell to mark evaluation scope. They switched to out-of-scope in one tap without confirmation, making accidental clicks too easy. To change evaluation scope, use the details view or "Select and bulk change" below.
● Select and bulk change
Click "Select and bulk change", choose cells, then click "Change level" or "Change evaluation scope". In Skill Map, click a person's name to select their entire column, or click a skill name to select an entire row.
- You can select "Not evaluated" as the new level, so you can delete trial evaluations in bulk
- You can access bulk change from Skill Map, individual skill pages, or Skill Analysis
- Each change is recorded separately in change history and marked "Bulk change". Self-evaluations by the person are not affected
- Works when you select a parent group to display subgroups together. Cells you cannot change (such as skills for groups a person doesn't belong to) appear grayed with diagonal lines; hover to see the reason
● Changing levels is now easier
- When you change a level or reset to not-evaluated, the reason is optional (if you enter one, it's saved in change history)
- If you close the details or switch to another skill or tab before saving, you'll see a prompt: "You have unsaved changes"
- We stopped sending emails when someone changes a level or resets to not-evaluated. Emails for training plans, deadlines, and Skill Analysis alerts continue as before
- Skill Maps with many people or skills now open and load faster. We also reorganized controls: search, filter, and "Expand all" now appear in the table header, and "Export to Excel" is in the menu
● Requirements
Skill Map is available on Core, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Bulk changes are performed by owners, team administrators, or group administrators (for their groups only) on a browser.
② Automatic skill level updates now work more reliably
We improved automatic updates (auto-evaluation) that raise skill levels when courses are completed, credentials earned, or related procedures are performed.
● Team-wide updates continue even after you close the screen
Previously, when you turned on auto-evaluation, updates across the team would only progress while the settings screen was open. Closing the screen would stop the process. Now updates run on the server and continue even after you close the screen.
- Progress and results appear at the top of the "Auto-evaluation" tab in Skill Map settings. If updates pause, click "Resume applying" to continue from where it stopped
- To re-apply updates without changing settings, click "Re-apply with current settings" (owner or team administrator only)
- When updates finish while Skill Map is open, we'll notify you in the top right. Click "Refresh to latest" to see the updates in the table
● Person's chosen level takes priority
After a person sets, changes, or resets a skill level, auto-evaluation won't change it based on earlier accomplishments. The record stays, marked "(currently differs by step) — this person set the level later, so the level was not changed". Previously, if someone lowered a level, an earlier related procedure accomplishment could raise it again.
● We standardized how procedure accomplishments are counted
- Levels are judged immediately when a procedure is completed or settings are saved
- For related procedures, "Solo completion" is based on the completion record that answered all questions. Completions where questions were skipped don't count and show as "Completed (unanswered questions)" in the related procedures list
- In the "Link" tab of skill definition editing, we moved the "Target level on completing all" field to just below the heading and added "Do not raise automatically" as the first option
- Fixed an issue where completing a file-based procedure didn't contribute to skill accomplishments
● Requirements
Auto-evaluation is available on Core, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Team-wide auto-evaluation settings are configured by owners or team administrators.
③ Add approvers mid-approval process
Previously, the approval workflow approvers were set when the request was sent. If you later decided "this needs a quality review", you had to withdraw the request and resend it.
Now approvers can add the next person in the chain while approving.
● How to add approvers
When approving, find "Add approvers (optional)" and click "Select who approves after me". Choose the person you want to add and approve. That person becomes an approver in your next step.
- If you select multiple people, all receive the request. If any one approves, the workflow continues
- Only those with owner, team administrator, or group administrator permissions can add approvers. You cannot select yourself or anyone already in your step or later steps
- If you add someone to a step that requires everyone's approval, that person receives the request after all others in that step approve
- If a request is sent back and resent, added steps remain (they don't if you withdraw the request)
- If you select someone who can't view the folder, we'll show a notice. They'll receive the request but won't be able to open the SOP after it's published
- This option doesn't appear for approvers in steps marked as "Review"
● Initially available to owners only
It's disabled by default. To enable it, go to "Owner Functions" → "Business rules" tab, find "Approval settings", and turn on "Allow approvers to add the next approver while approving". Save your changes.
● Requirements
Approval workflows are available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
④ Consolidated bulk edit into one screen
Previously, SOP editing had two "Bulk edit" options. The one in the menu worked with text and questions, while the one that appeared when selecting multiple steps handled voice, AI proofreading, and AR. Despite the same name, they did different things, making it impossible to do tasks like remove questions from only selected steps or align narration across all steps.
Now both open the same screen. Use tabs at the top to switch between "Step text", "Questions", "Voice", and "AR".
- Opening from the menu → "Bulk edit" applies to all steps
- Hold Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) or Shift and select multiple steps to see the count and "Bulk edit" button on the right. Opening from here applies to only the selected steps
- In the "Step text" tab, choose "Text replace" (including notation dictionary updates) or "Proofread with generative AI". The "Proofread all with generative AI" option from the menu is now here
- In the "Voice" and "AR" tabs, if settings differ across steps, you'll see "(currently differs by step)"
● Align question judgment in either direction
In the "Questions" tab under "How to judge", you can now align multiple-choice and numeric questions to either "Stop until as expected" or "Continue when unexpected". Previously you could only change toward "Continue". The list shows each question's current setting, and questions already set that way can't be selected. Expected answers are preserved.
● Fixes
- Fixed an issue where applying voice settings to video steps would reset when reopening the SOP
⑤ Simplified SOP player controls
● "Auto transition" is now "In-step Repeat"
We changed the "Auto transition" switch below the step text to "In-step Repeat" (a looping arrow icon). When on, the video and narration loop from the start instead of moving to the next step. When off, after the video and narration finish, it automatically advances. Pressing it briefly shows the new state.
The old "Auto transition" OFF state equals the new "In-step Repeat" ON. Note the direction is reversed. Your existing settings carry over. When sharing, "Open with auto transition enabled" still works as before; the recipient plays with In-step Repeat off.
● Last step button is now "Next"
Previously the last step showed "Submit completion report", but what happened next changed depending on the situation—unanswered questions list, branches, etc. It wasn't always a completion report. Now it says "Next" like all other steps. The completion report screen and "Submit completion report" in the step list remain unchanged.
● Other changes
- URLs in step text (what to do, work tips, quality warnings, important safety information) now appear as clickable links in the SOP player text view, step list, and edit preview. In a browser they open in a new tab; in the Dive app they open in the device browser
- The "Translation" button at the top now shows an icon only (hover to see the label)
- Control buttons at the top are now aligned: questions and attachments on the left, font size and translation on the right. Their position stays the same as you move between steps
Impact on existing customers
No settings need to be reconfigured. Emails when skill levels change are no longer sent; if you want to notify someone of a level change, use Skill Analysis alerts or similar. Approver additions are disabled until the owner enables them. The SOP player's "In-step Repeat" has the opposite on/off direction from the old "Auto transition".
