About step-level questions
You can add Question type options to each step of your SOP. With standard questions, workers cannot proceed to the next step until they answer (or, if a correct answer is set, until they answer correctly). However, there are two exceptions: questions with conditional branching enabled will branch even if answered incorrectly, and Continue when unexpected questions proceed even if marked as abnormal. Responses are saved as Viewing records, so you can use them for work-management checks and Skill Map progress tracking.
You can configure the following question types:
- Yes/No selection
- Single selection
- Multiple selection
- Free-entry (numbers)
- Free-entry (text)
Three ways to use questions
Questions are a tool to verify correctness on the spot. By changing only two settings — the AI analysis [Question type] and the [Continue when unexpected] checkbox for each question — you can switch between three modes:

Question type is a choice when having AI generate questions (see AI processing options and how to choose them for details). When manually creating questions, there is no distinction between Question types — you decide how to structure the Choices yourself.
Step-level questions have no scoring or pass/fail status. Only responses and attempts are recorded. If you want to set a Pass threshold and score results, use the Courses confirmation Assessment test (see Training feature: How to create and assign Courses and view progress).
Setting a Correct range (blocking until the answer is correct)
For selection-type questions (Yes/No, Single selection, Multiple selection), you can set a Correct range. Workers cannot proceed to the next step until they select the correct answer, preventing incorrect work from advancing. Since all response attempts are saved, you can see which questions workers struggled with.
For the Free-entry (numbers) Type, you can set an optional Correct range (lower limit to upper limit). Values outside this range are marked as incorrect. If you've already set a range condition in conditional branching, you can reuse it in one click as the Correct range.
Checklist and assessment sheet operation (Continue when unexpected)
Click the [Continue when unexpected] checkbox just below the question type selector. The question will then record Normal / Abnormal instead of Correct / Incorrect. This setting was previously called "Use for pass/fail judgment" — the behavior has not changed.
- For selection-type questions, a "Normal" column appears in the Choices table; you designate one or more normal Choices
- For numbers, the "Correct range" field switches to "Normal range"; you specify the lower to upper limits
- Whether Normal or Abnormal, the SOP continues to the next step, and the response is recorded as "Abnormal" in Viewing records

- From the dropdown, you can configure the desired settings.
For non-video steps (images, etc.)
Configure from the [Question] option for the relevant step in the editing screen.
