Try various edits
We've organized them by recommended implementation level (★★★ to ★). We'll start with the most recommended "Text editing".
Text editing [Recommended implementation level ★★★]
This is the most important edit when using Dive. Express as text what could not be fully explained in the video. Whether the SOP becomes a procedure that is actually used at the worksite depends on this text. It changes whether the person viewing can find the answer without asking a colleague when they get stuck during work.
- Click (seek) the relevant split range from the timeline. *The example below is editing within the Step 2 range.
-
Enter information in the Step title and text fields. The title and text generated during AI analysis are entered as default values.
Step title: Enter the step heading. A noun phrase works well.Text can be organized as follows:
| Input field | Content to enter | Example |
| Work to be done |
What to do Describe in detail the work content that is actually performed in this step. Make the procedure, operation, and sequence clear so that the user is not confused, and write in imperative mood (Do this). |
Insert part A into the prescribed position on the main body and fix it with 2 screws. Check the direction of the insertion slot and push firmly all the way in before tightening the screws. |
| Work tips |
How to do it successfully Enter key points to smooth the work process and supplementary information to aid understanding. |
• Part A will be correctly installed if the protruding part is positioned at the top. • If you loosely tighten both screws temporarily first before final tightening, they are less likely to shift. |
| Quality Warning |
What will fail if done Enter what should not be done (NG practices) and key points to follow to prevent work errors, defects, and rework. |
• Forcing it in may damage the part, so if it's difficult to insert, recheck the direction. • Tightening the screws too tightly may strip the threads. • Check beforehand that there are no foreign objects in the insertion slot. |
| Important safety information |
What is dangerous if done Enter content that could lead to injury or accident if not observed. |
• Always turn off power before work. • Wear gloves and be careful not to pinch your hands. • When using tools, confirm that no one is nearby. |
Also, from "AI organize", you can automatically organize text based on the content you entered in "Work to be done" (Pro plan and Enterprise plan users only).
Cut unnecessary parts [Recommended implementation level ★★]
If there are unnecessary video ranges, cut them.
- Click the "eye" button on the unnecessary split in the timeline (in the example below, assume the content of Step 4 is unnecessary).
-
The cut portion will be filled with black. Also, the step numbers of subsequent steps will be updated.
- If you do not want to split the subsequent steps, click the "Merge" button.
- The steps are merged and treated as one step. The height of the cut portion is reduced, and the numbers of subsequent steps change.
Adjusting splits [Recommended implementation level ★★]
Changing split timing
You can change it by dragging the relevant split.
Adding a split
Seek to the desired location and click the "Scissors" button to add a split.
Deleting a split
Select the split you want to delete, and an "x" button will appear, so click that button to delete it.
(You can also delete it with the Backspace or Delete key)
Using subtitles/shapes [Recommended implementation level ★]
If you want to elaborate further, try using subtitles/shapes as needed.
For specific operating instructions, please see below.
That completes the edits. Let's move on to confirming the edits.
Confirm edits
- Once you have completed editing, click "Confirm edits".
- Thumbnail extraction for each step will begin, so please wait (if there are no changes, this will be skipped in the next and subsequent times)
-
The confirmation operation is complete and the video editor closes automatically, and the information in the edit screen is updated. Click "Open SOP" to check the contents, and if corrections are needed, perform "Edit video" again.
Note ①:
You can change the Narration target and set Mute from "Audio settings".
Note ②:
If you want to use other videos or images as separate steps, click "Add step" and select and add the desired content.Note ③:
If you want to include a different video step in a series of video flows, use "Split step block".
Now you have an SOP with all the necessary information for each step ◎
With this level of detail, viewers can proceed with the work using just the SOP, even when stuck, without asking a colleague.
It's still in draft status, so to actually have people use it, publish it to complete.
