In AR, it's critical how you align created content with the real world. Dive adopts the following Alignment technologies that don't require preparing markers, with on-site use in mind.
① Spatial Recognition (VPS: Visual Positioning System)
- Shape information of the location where AR will be displayed is obtained in advance, and AR information is overlaid based on that shape information.
- Because positioning is determined three-dimensionally, this has the feature of minimal position shift error.
- As external Integration, you can also integrate map information from Immersal and use it as VPS data.
② Plane Detection
- Detects planes such as floors or desks, and allows AR to be displayed with any point as the origin. This is similar to the AR feature in the Amazon app.
- No advance preparation is Required, so it's convenient.
Notes
- Alignment by spatial recognition requires an internet connection. If connection is not available, plane detection is used as a fallback.
- Spatial Alignment with AR glasses is limited, so we adopt the method of AR markers plus manual Alignment.
- Alignment by AR markers can be used with smart glasses that support Image Tracking (Xreal Air 2 Ultra, MiRZA). Non-compatible models (XREAL One / One Pro, etc.) use manual Alignment only.
