Compare the Before and After videos side-by-side in two vertical panes, playing them simultaneously. If all looks correct, Export the improved video. The exported video is added to Materials and can be used to create SOPs. The exported video—which serves as the standard—also becomes the benchmark for Comparison with target in STEP 6 (Comparison).
This article is STEP 5 of the Work Analysis series. For an overview, see Work Analysis overview and getting started.
Comparison preview screen
The STEP 5 screen shows a two-pane comparison preview, stacked vertically.
- Top = Before: the standard confirmed in STEP 3 (without cuts, reordering, or speed changes)
- Bottom = After: the final state after applying edits from STEP 4
Playback position is synchronized between both panes, so you can compare before and after at the same moment in time. Both timelines are drawn to the same scale, so the bar length directly shows how much time was shortened. The pane that finishes first displays "Completed" on the final frame.
Playback controls
- Play / Pause: both panes play in sync
- Mute toggle: audio is muted by default during comparison to avoid overlapping sound
- Playback Speed (0.5× / 1× / 1.5× / 2×): adjust overall playback speed
- Zoom: expand or shrink the timeline (both panes together). "Show all" returns to the initial scale
- Click on timeline: seek to any position
- Local zoom on video: hover over the video and use the mouse wheel (or two-finger pinch on touch devices) to zoom in. Drag to pan, and double-click to reset. You can control the Top and Bottom panes independently
- Subtitle position: cycle through the position of subtitles (work element names) in this order: Bottom, Top, Left, Right, Hide. The same position is applied to both panes, and your choice is remembered the next time you open
- Align elements: align the start of each element across both panes. The pane that finishes first waits, then both resume when the next element begins. Alignment is based on the Before order, so if you reordered elements in STEP 4, the After pane shows "Before order". If you want to view elements in the reordered sequence, turn off Align elements
Export improved video
- Click the [Export improved video] button in the lower right of the screen
- A dialog opens to enter a name for the exported video (default: project name_date and time)
- [Export] sends the export request
Note: if an export is in progress, please wait for it to complete before starting a new one.
Export process and completion notification
- Export takes several minutes to several tens of minutes. The cloud service generates a video with the cuts, reordering, and speed adjustments applied, then runs it through the standard video pipeline for conversion and AI analysis
- When complete, we send an Email notification to the Email address you used to log in
- You can check export progress from the "Export" button on each project in the Work Analysis project List
How to use exported videos
- Exported videos are added to Materials. They are tagged with "After" so you can identify them at a glance
- They inherit the AI analysis options (such as wording settings) from the original video and are automatically analyzed by AI
- Like any other video, you can use them as materials for creating SOPs. Deploy them as Model videos for education and standard work
Proceed to STEP 6 (Comparison)
If you want to Compare the work video of a target person—such as a junior employee or new hire—against the confirmed standard, proceed to "Compare" (STEP 6) in the left sidebar. You can visualize skill level using Cycle time comparison, Delay per element, and AI coaching.
For details, see STEP 6 Comparison: Compare target person work video against the standard.
If you want to redo edits later
Return to STEP 1 through 4 using the left sidebar to continue editing. Projects are auto-saved, so the next time you open, you can pick up where you left off.
If you change the edits and export again, it is added to your history as a separate export (previous exports remain).
Tips for best results
- Before exporting, it helps to Unmute and verify there are no timing gaps between audio and video
- If you convert the "After" video into an SOP as-is, you can create a standard-work-based SOP in a short time
- You can also Export multiple versions from the same project and split them into use-case-specific SOPs—such as for operators and for training
- If you plan to do target comparison in STEP 6, taking care to define elements thoroughly makes the comparison results easier to understand
