When creating an SOP from video or files, you can specify how the AI analyzes the content using "Analysis options". Even if you press "Run" with the default settings, the SOP will be created. This page explains what each setting changes and how to choose.
Analysis options are available on all plans. The number of times you can run AI analysis varies by plan.
Opening AI Processing Options
The same screen opens from any of these actions:
- It opens automatically when you upload video or files
- For materials that have not been analyzed, open from the material detail modal's "Run AI processing" (see Run AI analysis on video materials that have not been analyzed)
- To redo analyzed materials, open from "Check AI analysis results" > "Re-run AI" (see How to re-run failed AI processing)
The screen is divided into three sections: "Video description", "Analysis options", and "Advanced settings". You typically adjust the first two; "Advanced settings" can remain at their defaults.
Video Description
This is the field where you tell the AI what work the video shows. Accuracy improves when you note the target equipment, purpose of the work, tools used, and so on.
Enter only details specific to this video. For company-specific terminology, equipment names, and other details that apply across videos, register them once in the Terminology Glossary. Then the AI will include them automatically, without you entering them each time.
You can also insert saved templates from the icon in the top-right of the field.
Analysis Options
Split Granularity
Specifies how finely the video is split into steps.

The default is "Step". Choose "Single" when you want one edited video without step divisions (see How to create one edited video without step splits).
Text Style
Specifies the tone and phrasing of the step instructions.

The default is "Command". If you have registered a Procedure Authoring Policy, "Follow policy" becomes an option and the default.
Subtitle Style
Specifies the tone of the motion subtitles shown in the video. This is separate from text style, and you can add "Match text" to the three text-style options. The default is "Command".
If you choose "Match text", the subtitles follow the same style as the step text. However, if text style is set to "Follow policy", you cannot choose "Match text", so you must pick the subtitle style individually.
Videos without narration (analyzed only by video)
Check this box to ignore audio and analyze only the video. Step splits and action descriptions are still generated, but speech transcription is not.
Use this for videos without narration, videos with only background music or machine sounds, or videos with unclear speech. It is also effective when re-running a video where poor audio caused analysis to fail.
Question Type
Specifies how the AI creates questions. This appears only when creating SOPs from video. (When creating from PDF or Office files, the original document's questions are transcribed, so this does not appear.)

The default is "On-site check". The SOP player does not assign scores or pass/fail; it just continues once the answer is given. This default prevents workers from getting stuck mid-procedure if they cannot remember.
When you create an SOP from the analyzed material, the settings you choose here carry over. Materials analyzed with "On-site check" will have "Continue when unexpected" enabled by default in the step conversion settings.

Advanced Settings
Target Step Count
Sets a target for the number of steps. The default is "Auto", where the AI decides the granularity based on split granularity.

Even if you set a target, the way steps are divided (split at the boundaries of work actions) does not change. The target affects only the number of steps. Also, the target is a goal, not a guarantee of exact numbers.
If split granularity is "Single", this option does not appear, as the target contradicts splitting the video into one step. If you specify a reference SOP to match the document's divisions, the reference SOP's step count takes priority and this setting is not used.
Recognition Language
The language of the speaker(s) in the video. Setting this correctly improves transcription accuracy. Even if a language is not in the list, you can type it in the input field to search.
Aggressively cut sections without speech
This setting broadly excludes sections without narration from the created SOP. The default is OFF.
Even when OFF, obvious filler words and long silences are cut conservatively, but natural pauses during work are preserved. If you turn this ON for a video with extended silent work, parts of the actual work might be cut. That is why the default is OFF.
Turn this ON for videos with narration or lecture-style videos with continuous speech, when you want to tighten up delayed sections and shorten the result. Cut sections can be restored in the video editor.
If you check "Videos without narration (analyzed only by video)", this setting is unavailable since it assumes no speech.
Reference Procedure (Beta)
Specify one existing procedure file (PDF / Excel / Word / image) and the video is divided to match that document's sections, step count, and order. Use this when you want to carry over the structure and terminology of an already-prepared SOP to the video manual.
If specified, split granularity and target step count are not used. See Specifying a reference procedure in video analysis (beta) for details.

When Creating an SOP from a File
When creating an SOP from a file (PDF / Excel / Word / PowerPoint), the options differ from video. Split granularity, subtitle style, target step count, and reference procedure do not appear.

Settings Memory
Your settings are saved and become the default the next time you open these options. When you "Re-run AI" on analyzed materials, conditions from the previous analysis (reference procedure, target step count, etc.) are restored.
You can check what conditions were used to analyze a material by opening its "Check AI analysis results".
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long does analysis take?
A. Roughly the same length as the video (about 10 minutes for a 10-minute video). The app can close and analysis continues; you'll get an email when it's done. You can analyze up to 1 hour of video per job.
Q. Is there a setting to not generate subtitles?
A. No. Subtitles are always generated. If you do not want speech transcription, check "Videos without narration (analyzed only by video)".
Q. Can I re-analyze with different options?
A. Yes. From "Check AI analysis results" > "Re-run AI", you can change options and re-analyze. Results are overwritten.
Q. The step divisions do not match what I expected.
A. First, change split granularity and re-analyze. To match a specific number, specify that in target step count. To match an existing SOP's divisions, specify a reference procedure. If it still does not match, you can manually edit steps in the video editor.
