When you create an SOP from materials after AI processing completes, the "Configure Step Conversion" screen appears. At this timing, you specify all the settings for narration audio, subtitles, questions, and related files. Even if you keep the default settings and click "Confirm with this content," the SOP is created, and you can change the specified content anytime later.
When This Screen Appears
This screen is displayed in the following situations:
- When you open an SOP from the link in the AI processing completion email
- When you create a new SOP from materials
- When you add video or files using "+ Add step" to an SOP in progress
Depending on the material type, the displayed items change. For materials other than video, "Mute Video Audio" and "Subtitle types to adopt" are not displayed.
Narration Target
Select which text is narrated when you play a step. The default is "Text."
| Option | Narration Content |
|---|---|
| None | No narration audio is created. This is suitable for operations where text is read by viewers or on-site locations where sound cannot be played. |
| Text | The body text of each step is narrated. This is the recommended setting. |
| Subtitle | The subtitle text is narrated. To synchronize with video, the narration speed is automatically adjusted for each subtitle to fit within the display time. |
Narration audio is not recorded; instead, AI reads the text aloud to generate it. If you want to change the narration content, rewrite the original text or subtitle. For more information, see Subtitle and Text Narration Features.
Mute Video Audio
This setting determines whether to mute the audio in the original video. The default is ON.
If you want to play the explanation audio from the original recording as-is, set it to OFF. If you select "Subtitle" for "Narration target," the narration and original audio overlap, so this setting automatically becomes ON and cannot be changed.
Subtitle Types to Adopt
During AI processing of video, two types of subtitles are generated separately. Select which type to use as the subtitle in the SOP.
| Option | Content | Default |
|---|---|---|
| AI-generated | This is a description of the action read from the video. The subtitle shows what scene is occurring. | ON |
| Speech transcription | This is the exact text of what the videographer or operator said. | OFF |
If you select both, the speech and action subtitles are combined on the timeline and appear as a single subtitle. If you deselect both, no subtitle is displayed. If the material has no data on one side, it is displayed as "(No data)" and cannot be selected.
Here is the guideline for choosing: For videos of work, "AI-generated" is fine as-is. For videos where the spoken content is the main focus, such as lectures or explanations, select "Speech transcription" to keep the spoken content as subtitles. Subtitle text becomes searchable, so you can find relevant sections by keywords later.
After creating an SOP, you can correct the subtitles using Edit Subtitles.
Playback & Display Settings
If you check "Do not display text on screen," the description text for each step will not be displayed during playback. The default is OFF. Use this when you want a simpler appearance for video steps or when you want to create a video-like presentation using only images or slides with narration audio.
The description text is not deleted; it is just hidden. If narration audio is set, the audio will play even if the text is hidden. Viewers can temporarily display the text using a toggle on the playback screen.
Since this is a per-SOP setting, it is not displayed when you add materials to an existing SOP using "+ Add step." After creation, you can switch this setting from "Playback & display settings" in the SOP's Basic information. For more information, see Hide description text during playback.
Questions
This determines whether to reflect confirmation questions generated by AI from the video in the steps. The default is ON. Questions are available with Core, Pro, and Enterprise plans. If your plan is outside the scope or the material has no question data, you cannot select this option.
If you check "Use as pass/fail judgment," questions become pass/fail judgments rather than correct/incorrect judgments. Even if the answer is not normal, the step continues to proceed, and the record shows "Abnormal." This is suitable for checklist and inspection-sheet operations. If you do not check this option, you must select the correct answer to proceed to the next step.
If you check "Use AI check" (beta), the "Require photo submission" and "Use AI check" settings are applied together to all steps that have questions. The default is OFF. The submitted photo is checked again by AI and advised as OK, needs review, or cannot be determined. The AI does not make a final judgment and does not block saving responses. This is available with Pro and Enterprise plans. You can adjust per-step settings after creation from each step's questions. For details, see How to Use AI Check (Double-Check Submitted Photos).
If you check "Keep questions only for steps where a keyword was spoken," questions appear only on steps where the specified word is mentioned, and questions on other steps are removed. The default is OFF. By including a cue like "pay attention here" during recording, you can narrow questions to the key points. This is displayed only for video materials. For details, see Keep questions only for steps where a keyword was spoken (Filter questions).
For more information, see Step-level Question Settings and Pass/fail judgment questions and viewing records (Checklist and inspection-sheet operations).
Related Files
This is displayed only when you create an SOP from a file or when you analyze video with a "Reference work procedure document" specified.
If you check "Register as a related file of the SOP," the source file is registered as a related file of the SOP and becomes accessible from the SOP. The default is OFF. The registered file is also displayed to view-only users. If you do not want to display it, you can switch it to "Hide from viewers" in the related files list after registration. If the same file is already registered, it will not be added again.
If you check "Register the corresponding page as an attachment on each step," the page of the source material for each step is attached as a PDF. The default is OFF. This can only be used with videos analyzed with "Split according to the document's steps." If the material has fewer pages than steps, the same page is attached to multiple steps.
Settings Are Remembered
The settings you specify are remembered and become the default values the next time you open "Configure Step Conversion." If you want to change settings for each material, specify them on this screen each time.
Change Later
The settings you specify here can be changed later if the SOP is in draft status.

"Subtitle types to adopt" is a choice made when creating an SOP. After creation, you can edit the subtitle text in the video editor, but if you want to switch to the other type all together, create the SOP again from the same material.
