If you re-run AI analysis on the same video material, the previous analysis results will be overwritten. If you want to try something like “What happens if I change the split granularity?” or “What happens if I set the text style to polite language?” while keeping the current results, copy the material first. Then change the settings and re-analyze on the copy.
The original material and the copy each keep their own analysis results, so you can open both and compare them side by side. This is done from a PC browser.
To see what each option changes, please refer to AI processing options and how to choose them.
When to use this
If the AI analysis results do not look right, you can redo the AI analysis itself, as well as fixing the results by hand on the SOP editing screen. Consider this when you see any of the following.
- The step splits are not where you expected
- The steps are too detailed or too coarse
- Questions are not attached where you want them
- The wording of the text or subtitles does not feel right
- You want to see with an actual video how the results change when you change how you write “Analysis instructions”
If only a few places are off, it is faster to fix them by hand with Adjusting step splits or Step-level question settings. If the whole thing feels off, it is faster to change the settings and re-analyze.
If you copy the material before re-analyzing, the analysis results of the original material and the SOP you have already created stay as they are, so you can change the settings and compare them.
Steps
1. Copy the material
- Open [Materials] in the sidebar
- Click the video you want to try to open the material's details modal
- Click [Copy] at the bottom of the details modal
The message “Copied!” appears, and a material named “Original title (Copy)” is added to the top of the Materials List. The AI analysis results and the analysis settings at that time are carried over as they are from the original material.
Copying does not re-upload the video file, so it does not use up your upload limit or your AI processing runs.
2. Re-analyze the copied material
- In the details modal of the copied material, click [Review AI processing results]
- The “AI analysis content” opens. Click [Re-run AI] at the bottom right
- The “AI analysis settings” opens. The settings from the previous analysis are already filled in as the defaults, so change only the items you want to try. Note that the results change each time you analyze, even under the same conditions, so if you want to keep the settings, it is also a good idea to run it again under the same conditions.
- Click [Start analysis] and the status changes to “AI processing...”
The analysis usually finishes in about the same amount of time as the video. The analysis keeps running even if you close the app, and you will be notified by email when it is complete.
The copied material also carries over the original analysis results, but they are replaced with the new results once the re-analysis is complete. The original results remain in the original material.
3. Compare the results
When you open [Review AI processing results] for both the original material and the copied material, you can see the analysis settings used at that time (Split granularity, Text style, Recognition Language, Analysis instructions, Target step count, and Reference work procedure used), along with the generated Step list and Subtitle list. You can also check the number of steps and the number of Cut steps here.
Once you decide which result to adopt, create the SOP from that material.
Analysis settings you can change
These are the main items you can change in the “AI analysis settings”.
- Analysis instructions: Writing what kind of work the video shows improves analysis accuracy
- Split granularity: Process / Step / Action / Single
- Text style: Command / Polite / Suggestion (if you have registered How to write SOPs, “How to write it” is also available)
- Subtitle style: The sentence ending for action subtitles. It can be set separately from the step text
- Videos without narration (analyzed only by video): Ignores the audio and analyzes only the video
- Recognition Language (under [Advanced settings]): The language of the speakers in the video
- Aggressively cut sections without speech (under [Advanced settings])
- Target step count (under [Advanced settings]): Specify the number of steps, or the number of seconds per step
- Reference work procedure (under [Advanced settings], β): Specifying a reference work procedure for video analysis (β)
Notes
- Re-analysis counts toward your AI processing runs. The Free, Lite, and Core plans have a daily limit on runs (Free 1, Lite 5, Core 10), so be careful if you run several different settings. The Pro and Enterprise plans have no limit.
- Material that is being processed by AI (showing “AI processing...”) cannot be re-run. Please wait until processing is complete.
- If you copy material that another member shared with you, the sharing setting of the copy is set to [Only me]. If needed, change it from the bottom left of the details modal.
- SOPs that have already been created are not changed even if the material is re-analyzed. This is because an SOP is created from the analysis results at the time it was made.
- You can copy materials other than AR Scan Data, but the flow of [Review AI processing results]→[Re-run AI] in this article applies to video materials.
Frequently asked questions
Q. What happens if I re-run without copying?
A. The analysis results of the same material are overwritten by the new results. The previous results cannot be restored. If you want to compare, be sure to copy the material first.
Q. If I delete the copied material, does it affect the original material?
A. No. The original material and the copy are treated as separate materials. For how to delete materials, see How to delete materials.
Q. What if I want to try three or more sets of settings?
A. Make as many copies as you want to try, change the settings for each one, and re-analyze. When you have finished comparing, please delete the copies you no longer need.
Q. Do I need to make a copy if I want to redo a video whose AI processing failed?
A. You can re-run the failed processing as it is without copying, because there is no result to keep. For the steps, see How to re-run failed AI processing.
