Accounts and users
In Dive, we distinguish between "account" and "user" as follows.
- Account: Identification information used for login (email address or Login ID for Email-free accounts). The account limit for each plan is counted by the number of accounts.
- User: A person who belongs to a team and uses Dive. One account is added to each team as a "user" for use.
- Accounts use an email address as the ID. For on-site staff who do not have an email address, we can issue an "Email-free account" with a Login ID method that does not require email. For details, see Add user. Users use an account to log in to the system and use Dive. While multiple people can use one account, we recommend one account per person from a security perspective. Please operate in accordance with your company's IT security policy.
- Add user (Invite by email) - Account registration is possible from the invitation email. If the email address has already been used to register an account in another team, when added as a user, it remains the same account while switching teams.
About account limit
- Each plan has a set account limit (for Pro, the account limit for Owner through Viewer is 50). Within this limit, you can add users to a team. If you disable a user, that slot becomes available.
Example: Account limit is 50 people, and 50 people are currently registered. There are 0 available slots, so you cannot add users at this time. However, if you disable 2 existing users, 2 slots become available, and you can add 2 new users. -
You can increase the account limit by applying an option.
Users not counted in the account limit
The following do not consume your company's account limit.
- Assigned consultant of a sales partner (applies to teams where you have agreed that the assigned person will participate as a team user at the time of registration)
- Cases where our staff participates for support purposes
- People invited via guest invitations (counted separately as "guest invitations")
- Disabled users
About user disable
- Disabling a user does not delete the account itself. A disabled user cannot log in to the team they were originally in, but the owner or team administrator can restore from "Disabled users". When restoring, the account limit is rechecked, and if there are no available slots, the user cannot be restored with their original permission. For plans that support guest invitations, you can also restore as a guest (see Restore a disabled user).
- Even if you disable a user, usage history remains. If an administrator restores the user, the usage history can be checked again.
- A disabled person cannot be registered as a new user again. If you invite, bulk import, or issue an Email-free account using the same email address / Login ID, we will inform you and guide you to restore from "Disabled users". This is because if you recreate the user as a new user, their skill, qualification, and training history will remain with the previous user.
- If you wish to completely delete an account, please contact Dive Customer Success (customer-success@episotech.com).
