Try various edits
We've organized them by recommended implementation level (★★★ to ★). First, we recommend starting with "Text editing."
Text editing【Recommended level ★★★】
This is the most important edit when using Dive. Express content that couldn't be fully explained in the video as text. The quality of this text polish determines whether the video manual will actually be used on the shop floor!
- Click (seek) the relevant break range on the timeline. ※In the example below, we're editing within the Step 2 range.
-
Enter information in the step title and text fields. The title and text generated during AI analysis appear as initial values.
Step title: Enter the step heading. Using a noun phrase works well.Text should be organized as follows:
| Input field | Content to input | Example |
| Work content |
What to do Write specifically what work is actually performed in that step. To help users complete the work without confusion, clearly state the steps, operations, and order in imperative form (do X). |
Insert part A into the designated position on the main unit and secure it with 2 screws. Check the direction of the insertion hole and push firmly all the way in before tightening the screws. |
| Work tips |
How to do it successfully Enter points to proceed smoothly with the work or supplementary information to aid understanding. |
・Part A installs correctly when the protruding part faces upward. ・Lightly tighten both screws first as temporary fasteners before final tightening to prevent misalignment. |
| Quality Warning |
What causes failure Enter things to avoid (NG actions) and points to follow to prevent work mistakes, defects, and rework. |
・Forcing the part in can damage it, so if it's hard to insert, recheck the direction. ・Over-tightening screws can strip the threads. ・Check beforehand that no foreign objects are in the insertion hole. |
| Important safety information |
What causes danger Enter content that could cause injury or accidents if not followed. |
・Always turn off power before starting work. ・Wear gloves and be careful not to pinch your hands. ・Confirm no one is nearby when using tools. |
You can also use "AI Organize" to automatically organize text based on what you entered in the work content field (available to Pro and Enterprise plan users only).
Cut unnecessary sections【Recommended level ★★】
If there are unnecessary video ranges, cut them out.
- Click the eye button in the unnecessary break on the timeline (in the example below, we're assuming Step 4 content is unnecessary).
-
The cut section appears blacked out. The step numbers of subsequent steps are also updated.
- If you don't want to split the subsequent steps, click the "Merge" button.
- The steps are merged and treated as one step. The cut section height decreases, and the subsequent step numbers change.
Adjust breaks【Recommended level ★★】
Change break timing
You can change it by dragging the relevant break.
Add a break
Seek to the desired location, then click the scissors button to add a break.
Delete a break
Select the break you want to delete, and an × button will appear. Click that button to delete it.
(You can also delete using Backspace or Delete key)
Use subtitles and shapes【Recommended level ★】
When creating a professional video manual, try using subtitles and shapes as needed.
For specific operation instructions, see the following:
That completes your editing. Now move to confirming your edits.
Confirm edits
- Once you've finished all edits, click "Confirm edits".
- Thumbnail extraction for each step will begin. Please wait (steps without changes will be skipped in the future)
-
The confirmation process is complete, the video editor closes automatically, and the information on the edit screen updates. Click "Open SOP" to review the content. If corrections are needed, run "Edit video" again.
Note 1:
You can change the narration target and set muting from "Audio settings".
Note 2:
If you want to use different video or images as separate steps, click "Add step" and select the desired content to add.Note 3:
If you want to insert a different video step in the middle of a video sequence, use "Split step block".
You've now created an even clearer SOP ◎
By performing these edits, users will be able to solve problems independently and complete work more effectively.
Your SOP is still in draft status. Publishing it completes this step so actual users can access it.
