Dive comes with over 30 industry templates. Rather than building skills from scratch, you can start with a template and customize it based on your company's needs.
For an overview of Skill Maps, see What is a Skill Map? / How to read Skill Marks.
Steps to Create from a Template
- Click Training management → Development in the sidebar
- Click the group where you want to set up a Skill Map (for example: "Manufacturing Dept 2")
-
Click Edit skill map
-
Click Import, then From industry templates
- A list of over 30 industry templates appears. Select a template that fits your company and click Preview

Skill Structure
Dive's Skill Map is organized in a hierarchy: Category → Subcategory → Skill.
- To edit skills under a category, click the [triangle] button next to any category.
* From here on, we use [Bending] as an example. When expanded, under Category [Bending] there are Subcategories [Press Brake] and [Roll Bending], under [Press Brake] there are 3 skills including [Press Brake Setup], and under [Roll Bending] there is 1 skill [Roll Bending Processing]. - Edit the skill definition. Click the triangle button next to [Press Brake Setup] to see the details and edit as needed.
What Can Be Defined for Each Skill
- Skill name
- Description: An overview of the skill
- Workforce Plan: The number of people in the group who should have the target skill level. This can be used to visualize the gap against group targets on the Skill Map
- Evaluation Criteria: Can be defined at 4 levels (for example, if someone can select V-width and punch under guidance but cannot set up changeovers and bending conditions on their own, they are rated as Level 2)
- Related procedures: When you link an SOP you have created, the history of users viewing that SOP is aggregated as development records for the target skill
- Convert to team-common skill: Shown only to Team Administrators and above. Only available in the Enterprise plan. The defined skill is registered as a "Team-common skill" and becomes available for other groups to import when they import skills (effective when managing skills across the team)
- Courses where this skill is gained: When you link a Training course, the level of people who have completed it is automatically raised (see the "Link" tab)
- Qualifications that prove this skill: When you link a qualification, the level of people who obtain that qualification is automatically raised (see the "Link" tab)
- Target level on completing all: Automatically raises the level of people who have completed all related procedures to the level you select here (see the "Link" tab)
Save and Apply
- When you finish editing, click Save. The Skill Map definition is updated.
Visualizing Workforce Plans and Gaps
When you set a workforce plan for each skill, it is calculated based on the Skill Status of your group members and displayed in the Gap column on the right (at stages where member Skill Status has not yet been defined, all show as gaps).
Setting Evaluation Scope for Individual Members
For each skill, you define which members should have that skill. Click the ○ (cell) in the Members column to open the details. Use Set to Not target / Put back in scope to the right of the skill name to switch between target and not target. You can also switch multiple people and skills at once. For the steps, see "Set to Not target (Out of scope)" in Setting Member Skill Levels.
The default is in scope. When set to not target, the skill is hidden on the individual user page, making it clearer to users which skills they should acquire.
