We have released an Export format feature in response to the frequently requested "Export in your company's work standards format." We have also made it possible to complete SAML 2.0 integration setup entirely from the admin panel, which previously required our individual configuration.
[Aug 23, 2026 Update] The Export format now also supports Word and PowerPoint formats. You can now register formats in Excel (.xlsx / .xlsm), Word (.docx / .docm), and PowerPoint (.pptx / .pptm). We have also redesigned the standard PDF and added Word export. For details, see 2026-08-23 Improvement Release: Word and PowerPoint Support for Export format / Redesigned Standard PDF / Word Export.
Export SOPs in Excel Using Your Company Format
Previously, the only Excel format you could export from Dive was the format Dive determined. Your company's work standards documents have specific formats: document numbers, revision columns, approval stamp areas, logos, and unique report layouts. Even after creating SOPs in Dive, you still had to manually transcribe them into your format for submission and archival, resulting in redundant work.
With this release, you can now register your company's Excel file format directly. Your registered format will appear in the "Export" → "Excel" menu on the SOP details screen. Select it and export with your exact formatting maintained.
Your format will never be compromised
Grid lines, column widths, logos, print settings, formulas, and macros remain exactly as in your registered file. We design the output so rows are never added or removed, which means formulas, print title rows, and cell references used by macros will never shift. We also support macro-enabled workbooks (.xlsm).
Just add merge tags to your format
Place tags that correspond to each data type (e.g., {{step_title}}) in the cells where you want data inserted. You can click to copy tags from the list on the settings screen. You don't have to start from scratch. Simply add tags to the work standards file you already use. Sample files with merge tags are also available for download.
What you can insert
- Cover and shared: Title / Description / Revision number / Cover image
- Per step: Step number / Heading / Work content / Work tips / Quality warning / Important safety information / Questions / Captions / URL to open this step / Step image / QR code to open this step
- Revision history: Rev number / Revision details / Proposer / Proposal date / Approval date / Approver
Steps use a "frame" method. Lay out as many frames as needed. Build one frame, then copy and change the number to add more, and you can build any multi-row format. Unused frames remain as blank rows, so your report grid lines stay intact.
Usage conditions
- Available on the Enterprise plan
- Users with Team Administrator privileges or higher can register and delete formats. Users with permission to export SOPs can perform the export
- Supported file formats are .xlsx / .xlsm (as of Aug 23, 2026, .docx / .docm and .pptx / .pptm were added)
- Settings location: Side menu "Dictionaries / Templates" → "Templates" → "Export format"
For creation and registration instructions and a complete tag list, see Export SOPs in Excel Using Your Company Format (Export format).
SAML 2.0 Setup via Admin Panel
Previously, SAML 2.0 SSO required us to hold your IdP metadata and set it up individually. This took time from your initial contact to activation, and setup was not available during the trial period. Customers for whom SSO was a prerequisite for adoption had to wait until after contract to verify.
With this release, Owners can now complete SAML 2.0 integration setup entirely from the admin panel. We have also enabled setup during the Enterprise plan trial period. Your IT department can complete verification before you sign the contract.
Setup flow
- Enter the SP Entity ID / ACS URL displayed on screen into your IdP's SAML app
- Register your company's email domain and register the displayed TXT record in DNS to verify ownership
- Register your IdP's metadata (URL or XML) and save
We support SAML 2.0 compatible IdPs including Okta / Microsoft Entra ID / OneLogin / HENNGE One.
We prevent certificate expiration login failures
When you register metadata via URL, Dive automatically syncs daily if your IdP replaces the signing certificate. We send email reminders 30 days, 14 days, 7 days, and 1 day before expiration.
Automatic SSO user registration (optional)
Users who authenticate via your IdP are automatically added to your team on first login. This eliminates the need for manual invitations, but added users consume accounts (seats), so this is off by default. If you have reached your contracted account limit, we will not perform automatic registration (no overage charges apply).
Usage conditions
- Available on the Enterprise plan (including trial period)
- Only Owner-level users can configure settings
- Settings location: Side menu "Owner Functions" → "Security" → "Single Sign-On (SSO) Settings"
For configuration instructions, see Set Up Single Sign-On (SSO) (Microsoft Entra ID / SAML 2.0).
Other Improvements
- We fixed an issue where AI analysis split granularity set to "Action" was actually dividing at nearly the same granularity as "Step". Now 1 action equals 1 step. Use this for work you want to keep separated finely, such as button operations or tool changes (if you want the same granularity as before, select "Step")
- We fixed an issue where Microsoft Entra ID (OIDC) integration would always show "Linking failed" when domain information could not be retrieved from the tenant
- We reviewed account limit notifications. When switching plans, you can now see in advance a list of accounts that will be automatically disabled
- In "Owner Functions" and "Dictionaries / Templates," the last tab you viewed now displays when you open the menu again
Impact on Existing Usage
Your existing SOPs are unchanged. If you haven't registered an export format, "Export" → "Excel" exports in the standard format as before. Once you register a format, "Excel" will show both "Standard" and your registered format names.
SSO configuration details remain unchanged. If you use Microsoft Entra ID (OIDC) integration, settings and behavior are unchanged.
Only if you use "Action" in AI analysis split granularity will SOP step counts increase for newly analyzed SOPs. Your existing created SOPs are unchanged.
