We released six improvements focused on reducing wait time from opening a procedure to starting playback. Audio narration and translations are now available step-by-step as they are prepared. You can also use element work divisions determined in work analysis directly as procedure steps.

(1) Audio and translations can now be played step-by-step as they are prepared

Previously, when you opened a procedure, the audio narration and translations had to wait until all steps in the entire procedure were ready. Procedures with more steps meant longer wait times before you could see the first step.

With this release, prepared steps can now be played in order. Currently viewed steps are prioritized, followed by upcoming steps in sequence.

Steps being prepared show "Preparing the audio for this step..." and "Preparing the translation for this step..."
Use "Play without waiting for the audio" to continue without waiting
In the step list (table of contents), steps without translation show "Translating". Original text appears first and is replaced with the translation later
Opening the step list scrolls to the currently viewed step
During peak times, audio generation or translation may fail silently, leaving steps without audio or as original text. We now retry these automatically
The maximum wait time after updating the Pronunciation Dictionary has been reduced from 5 minutes to 90 seconds

(2) You can now create procedures according to divisions determined in work analysis

Previously, even if you divided element work in work analysis and exported the improved video, the procedure step divisions were still determined by AI when creating the procedure. Manually decided divisions and work names were lost, and you had to manually fix the AI results.

Now you can use element work divisions determined in work analysis directly as procedure steps. Each element work becomes one procedure step, and the work name becomes the step title. AI generates the description, work tips, cautions, and questions.

"Split steps to match the element work"

This option appears in the AI analysis settings when exporting video from work analysis (STEP5 Review). It only appears for videos exported from work analysis and is on by default.

Step divisions are determined by element work, so granularity and target step count settings are disabled
Turn off to let AI handle step divisions as before. Element work is only used for action subtitles
The same option appears when re-analyzing from the asset list later

"You can also use work names as-is in action subtitles"

Selecting "As-is" for action subtitle style uses the work name exactly as an action subtitle. To use AI-transcribed action subtitles, you can still choose the ending style and expression style as before. This setting is independent of step divisions.

"You can also choose to export video only"

After entering a name during export, the same "AI analysis settings" as a normal video upload appear. You can choose between "Run AI analysis too" and "Export only". With export only, you won't receive a completion email and the video appears in the asset list.

Work analysis is available in Pro and Enterprise plans.

(3) Added member reordering and hiding options to skill maps

The member column in skill maps was only sorted by name, and you couldn't change the order or decide who to display. When other departments were added to a group due to approval workflow requirements, they would appear in the skill map too.

You can now configure display settings by group from the "Member display" option in the skill map screen.

Drag to set the order. "Skill map setting order" is added to reordering options
Use the switch to hide members
Hidden members disappear from the column and are excluded from achievement counts, base numbers, gaps, and achievement rates
The skill map for that group no longer appears on their personal page (development)
The same settings apply to Excel exports and saved skill maps
When displaying multiple groups simultaneously, members appear if they're displayed in any one group
Assessment data is not deleted. You're only hiding the display, so you can restore it later

Only owners, Team Administrators, and Group Administrators can configure settings (Group Administrators can only configure their own groups). Open while only one group is selected.

(4) You can now import skill levels from Excel

Previously, skill levels had to be set one person at a time on screen. Now you can import member level data using the "Level import" feature, which allows you to write back the member column (level) from an exported Excel file. You can now apply assessments you've already managed in Excel all at once.

"Files that can be imported"

Only Dive "Export to Excel" files (.xlsx / .xlsm) are supported for round-trip import
Other company format symbols (O/triangle/X, S/A/B/C, etc.) are not supported
Members are matched by email address first, then display name. Skills are matched by category, subcategory, and skill name

"Handling of values"

Only numeric levels 1-4 are imported
Empty cells are treated as "do not change". This is not the same as resetting to not-evaluated
By default, cells that already contain levels are not imported. Switch to "Overwrite existing too" to include them
Before importing, you can review a list of data to write, skipped rows, and values that couldn't be read
Imported levels remain in the assessment history as official levels (with a mark showing they were imported). Level change notifications are not sent
Guests are not included. Import is not available while viewing saved skill maps

Skill Maps are available in Core and higher plans. Excel export is available in Pro and Enterprise plans.

(5) Updated default setting for "Distribute" when publishing procedures

"Distribute" (send notification emails to those who can view) was previously always shown as enabled during approval requests or publishing. To prevent unintended notifications, the default is now disabled.

Your previous choice is saved in the browser and used as the default next time. If you regularly enable it, it will be enabled by default going forward
If the procedure has a saved setting, that setting takes priority as before
Even on shared computers, settings are remembered separately for each logged-in user

(6) Other refinements

Fixed an issue where clicking retry on a video that "Processing failed" would remain "Processing" and the retry button would disappear. We now confirm receipt of processing before changing the display and prevent rapid repeated clicks
Share settings and comments are now retained when reprocessing an asset
Fixed an issue where video conversion completion notifications were rarely missed and conversion would remain stuck at "Processing" even after completion
Fixed an issue where correcting kanji or unit pronunciation would cause old audio generated earlier to revert
Fixed an issue where procedures with step order information in old format would not generate any narration audio
Changed the default narration target when creating procedures from video assets to "Subtitles" (aligning with workflows where subtitles are read and video audio is muted)
MP4 download notifications now persist until the download completes. Previously they would disappear after a few seconds
Line breaks in instructions are now preserved on the AI processing details screen. We also fixed an issue where empty lines with no content would sometimes appear
Reviewed the split processing and retry conditions for long video AI analysis

Impact on existing use

Existing procedures and skill map assessment data are unchanged. Skill map "member reordering and hiding" are not configured by default and display in the same order as before.

"Distribute" now defaults to off when publishing procedures. If you normally send notifications, please check the box when publishing (from next time, your previous choice will be the default).

Video export from work analysis previously progressed automatically through AI analysis, but now you choose between "Run AI analysis too" and "Export only" at export time. Since "Split steps to match the element work" is now on by default, turn it off if you want AI to handle step divisions as before.
