When you create an SOP from material whose AI processing has finished, [Step conversion settings] is shown. Here you can specify at once how to handle narration audio, subtitles, questions, and related files. Even if you press [Confirm with this content] with the default settings, the SOP is created, and the settings you specify can be changed at any time later.
The items are grouped into collapsible sections: [Audio], [Subtitles], [Questions], [Documents], and [Other]. Even when a section is collapsed, the current selection is shown to the right of its heading. Open only the sections you want to change. When you first open this screen, all sections are closed, and whether each section is open or closed is remembered the next time. If no keyword is found and all questions are removed, [Questions] opens automatically to let you know.
When it is shown
It is shown in the following cases.
- When you open an SOP from the link in the AI processing completion email
- When you create a new SOP from material
- When you add a video or file with [+ Add step] to an SOP that is being created
The items shown depend on the type of material. For materials other than video, [Mute video audio] and [Subtitles] are not shown.

Narration target
In [Audio], you choose which text is read aloud when the steps are played. For SOPs made from video, the default is [Subtitles]; for SOPs made from files, it is [Text] (subtitles cannot be chosen for files). The option you chose last time becomes the default next time.

Narration audio is not a recording. The AI generates it by reading the text aloud. To change what is read, rewrite the original text or subtitles. For details, see Subtitle and text narration feature.
Mute video audio
It is in [Audio]. It sets whether to mute the audio recorded in the original video. The default is ON.
If you want to hear the explanatory audio recorded during filming as it is, set this to OFF. If you select [Subtitles] for [Narration target], the narration and the original audio would overlap, so this is set to ON automatically and cannot be changed.
Subtitle types to adopt
It is in [Subtitles]. When AI processes a video, two types of subtitles are generated separately. Choose which one to use as the SOP's subtitles.

If you select both, the speech and action subtitles are combined on one timeline and added as a single subtitle. If you clear both, no subtitles are shown. For a type that has no data in the material, [(No data)] is shown and cannot be selected.
As a guide: for videos of work being filmed, leaving [AI-generated] as it is works fine. For videos where speech is the main content, such as lectures or explanations, select [Speech transcription] to keep what was said as subtitles. Subtitle text can be searched, so you can later find the relevant part by searching for words.
After the SOP is created, you can correct subtitles in Editing subtitles.
Other (Items used, Text pane)
It is in [Other].
When you check [Include the items used detected by AI], the parts, materials, tools, and so on that AI reads from the video or documents are registered under [Items used] in the SOP's basic information. The default is ON. This is shown only when AI could read items from the material, and the number of items read is shown below. You can add, edit, or delete them after creation. When you check [Open with the step text pane collapsed], the text pane on the right is collapsed when playback starts. The default is OFF. Use this when you want the video to appear larger, or when you want slides or images with narration to play like a video.
The text is not deleted; it is only collapsed. If narration audio is set, the audio keeps playing even while the pane is collapsed. Viewers can open the text pane from the [Steps] tab in the divider.
[Open with the step text pane collapsed] is a per-SOP setting, so it does not appear when you add material to an existing SOP with [+ Add step]. After creation, you can switch it from [Playback & display settings] in the SOP's basic information. For details, see Hiding text (description) during playback.
Questions
It is in [Questions]. [Apply questions to steps] sets whether the confirmation questions generated by AI are applied to the steps. The default is ON. Questions are also created when you create an SOP from a file (PDF or Office files), as long as [Create questions] is checked in the AI processing options. Questions are available on the Core, Pro, and Enterprise plans. They cannot be selected on other plans, or when the material has no question data.
When you check [Continue when unexpected], questions are judged as normal or abnormal instead of correct or incorrect. Even if the answer is not normal, work moves on to the next step without stopping, and the answer is recorded as "Abnormal." This suits operations that use inspection forms and checklists. If you clear this check, the correct answer must be selected before moving on to the next step. For materials where [Question type] is set to [On-site check] in the AI processing options, this check is ON from the start.
When you check [Use AI photo check] (beta), [Require photo submission] and [Use AI photo check] are set together for every step that keeps questions. The default is OFF. AI reviews the submitted photos again and advises on each one: OK, needs review, or cannot be determined. It does not judge pass or fail, and it does not stop answers from being saved. Available on the Pro and Enterprise plans. You can adjust individual steps from their questions after the SOP is created. For details, see How to use AI photo check.
When you check [Keep questions only for steps where a keyword was spoken], questions remain only on the steps where the specified words are spoken, and questions on all other steps are removed. The default is OFF. If you include a cue such as "Caution here" while filming, you can narrow the questions down to the key points. This appears only for video materials. Documents (Related files, Page attachments, Alternate with video)
It is in [Documents]. It appears only when the SOP is created from a file, or for videos analyzed by specifying a [Reference work SOP].
When you check [Register as a related file of the procedure], the source file is registered as a related file of the SOP, so it can be reached from the SOP. The default is OFF. Registered files are also shown to view-only users. If you do not want them shown, switch them to "Hide from viewers" in the related files list after registration. If the same file is already registered, it is not added again.
When you check [Register the corresponding page as an attachment on each step], the page of the source document that each step is based on is attached to that step as a PDF. The default is OFF. It can be used only for videos analyzed with [Split according to the document's steps]. If the document has fewer pages than there are steps, several steps will have the same page attached.
When you check [Alternate reference pages with video steps], each page of the document becomes a step of its own and is placed before the video step that corresponds to that page (for example: Document P.1 → Video → Document P.2 → Video). The default is OFF. It can be used only for videos analyzed with [Split according to the document's steps]. It does not appear when creating from a file.
- The step heading for a page is "Document name (P.page number)," and that page of the document is shown. No body text is entered, and narration is OFF. The text of the document is included in the body of the video step.
- When several video steps correspond to one page, the page step is inserted only once, at the point where the page changes.
- Videos are split into separate video step blocks at the points where a page is inserted. Video editing and audio settings are made for each block. In each block's video editor, the parts belonging to other blocks also remain on the timeline, but you cannot change their adoption or split points.
- It can be used when creating from the material page, on the new creation screen, and when adding videos while editing an SOP. It does not appear when inserting a page in the middle of a video step block (the gap).
- When a page could not be inserted, the reason is shown (video not split according to the document's steps, document cannot be loaded, or steps cannot be matched to pages). If the document cannot be loaded, check whether the reference document has been deleted from the material.
Settings are remembered
The settings you specify are remembered and become the defaults the next time you open [Step conversion settings]. If you want different settings for each material, specify them on this screen each time.
Changing later
Settings specified here can be changed later, as long as the SOP is in draft status.

[Subtitle types to adopt] is a choice made when creating the SOP. After creation, you can edit the wording of subtitles in the video editor, but if you want to replace them all with the other type, create the SOP again from the same material.
